Graphites

I've been taking one dose of 6c graphites the last 3 nights for menopause problems and weight gain that goes with it.

So why do I feel like I've gone up a size and gained weight not lost it.

Please help as I'm in menopause and my weight just seems to be increasing no matter how I eat or how much exercise.

I've tried bryonia, sepia, lycopodium. Nothing seems to help.

Is there anything that will get rid of the weight going on around the middle during this horrible menopause.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The weight gain u notice is not due to graphitis. do you 'feel' like u have gained some weight or have u measured it with a weighing machine? more than the hormones its the lack of exercise and burning calories which are responsible for the weight gain.just make sure that u have a regular healthy diet with exercises daily for at least 20 mins to half an hour.

Graphitis given to you will help you reduce weight along with general improvement during the time of menopause.

I just feel bigger and look bigger when I see myself in the mirror to what I did at the weekend and graphites is the only thing different.

I eat very little and exercise 30 mins 6 times per week.

So how long does graphites take to help the weight reduce. Am I looking at days, weeks or months

onyxgroup last decade
Oh one other thing - I seemed to not pass much fluid since I've taken it.

Many thanks for replying to my post by the way - very appreciative.

Can you take too many remedies like I feel I have done with lycopodium, sepia, bryonia and now graphites.

Feel that nothing seems to be a long term cure so are the remedies wrong?

anyone help me on this?

onyxgroup last decade
take only graphitis.....will have to continue for a month. its always good to take single remedy at a time.

Started taking it Sat and had another dose sun and Monday but on Tuesday I felt my heart was racing and had palpitations. Would graphites do this - I've not had any since. But I did feel like it gave me a feel good factor prior to the heart thing. I now feel quite anxious and on edge since Tuesday - is this an aggravation from graphites or something else.

Hope someone will respond quickly as I'm quite concerned with the palpitation and racy heart.

onyxgroup last decade
no graphitis wont do tis. can u tell me when exactly you got this palpitations? did u get it all of a sudden without any reason?

drpriyadarshini last decade
Tuesday felt pretty good all day and put it down to the graphites, good mood, no headache (for a change) and just a general feel good factor.

However when I got home after work I felt really hyper and couldn't settle and like I had a load of energy but needed to get rid of it - heart felt a bit racy then. so as my stomach bloats I did a naughty thing and took a dose of lycopodium later on and ever since have felt the palpitations, feeling like I can't get my breadth and shaky inside. A feeling of being 'on edge' anxious sort of feeling. My chest feels tight and heavy.

Is this an aggravation from either graphites or lycopodium know I shouldn't have took the lyco.

Graphites was 6c wet dose in water. Lyco 1LM dose.

Appreciate any help. How can I get rid of this feeling please. Am concerned.

onyxgroup last decade
oh....thats a high potency. ok how long u have been taking these medicines. specify all drugs with potency which u have been taking for the past 2 weeks

drpriyadarshini last decade
Sun - Thurs lyco one per day
nothing Friday
then Sat, Sun, Mon, graphites wet dose 6c
then lyco Tues 1lm

Have I done some damage to myself - now very very worried.

onyxgroup last decade
Dr. Priya is confused. You have not taken Lyco 1M but you have taken lyco lm 1.

LM/1 = 5.5c (arithmetically, as a matter of fact they are not comparable)

So don't worry. You have done no damage to yourself.

Please copy the Questionnaire from the following thread
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/188925/
and post all the questions here duly answered. On that basis Dr. Priya will work out a remedy for you. Please explain in detail the exact feeling of stomach pain, when it starts, when it aggravates, it's physical appearance etc. Similarly explain your mental state in depth.

Anyone?

onyxgroup last decade
I've tried bryonia, sepia, lycopodium. Nothing seems to help.

Bry and sepia are inimcal.

So i suggest that you take a dose of Nux Vomica 30c to cancel out that effect.

On the next day you may take a single dose of lachesis 200c (only once, not daily). No other remedy for next 15 days. Lachesis is a prime remedy for menopause. Your symptoms like no hunger, excessive hunger, palpitations also point to lachesis.

Actually i made a suggestion to you to take ars alb and some tissue salts when you posted as kohler. It seems that you did'nt like my suggestion and opted for other remedies. Anyway that is your right. And to give suggestions is my right. So we are free to exercise our rights. i would suggest you to wait for Dr. Priya.

kadwa last decade
What does inimcal mean?

onyxgroup last decade
It should be inimical. There are some relationships that homoepathic remedies have with each other.

antidote
One remedy is said to antidote another remedy if it is capable of nullifying the effects created by another remedy.

follows well
A remedy that follows another remedy well is generally given by the prescriber in that order if the conditions demand.

complements
A remedy that complements another remedy stabilises and furthers the effects of that remedy.

inimical
The remedies that are inimical to each other are not given in succession.

In the remedy relationship table some remedies are shown as antidotes as well as complementaries. It means that some symptoms they antidote while other symptoms they complement.

But the remedies that have inimical relationship don't have any other relationship between them.

kadwa last decade
oh sorry...my bad. thanks a lot Dr kadwa.
i worked out the symptoms posted. it points to lachesis as Dr kadwa has analysed.

so pls take Nux vom 30c one dose to cancel the effect of the inimical drugs.

day two take lachesis 200c, single dose..at bed time.

wait for fifteen days and report the changes.once again thanks Dr Kadwa.

drpriyadarshini last decade
Many thanks for that.

Do I need to take nux now that most of the bad effects have gone?

Or can I go straight to lachesis?

onyxgroup last decade
then go straight to lachesis.

drpriyadarshini last decade
Many thanks

onyxgroup last decade
So how long do I wait to see a reduction in my bloating with lachesis - it's beeen a week and no change - tummy as big as ever - so depressing.

onyxgroup last decade
It is better to wait for atleast 15 days. You should see whether there is any change in your mental state, your propensity to over-eat alterating with aversion to food etc. It is not possible that the remedy will reduce your tummy size.

kadwa last decade
I am now having bad aggravation from lachesis - last 4 days - blinding headache, heart is racing and irregular, hot one minute, then cold, no energy, and very tired. It's definitely the remedy - how long will this last and will the headache and tired feeling go - surely 4 days is a long time for aggravation to last.

onyxgroup last decade
It is very difficult to suggest as with each remedy that you take your problems seem to rise. It is really troublesome for you. By the way nux, ars and carb veg can antidote lachesis. You may go through all the three and may take the one that matches most closely your symptoms. It may also happen that the aggravation may pass away on it's own within few days.
