chronic cough

for some years I have been suffering from a kind of chronic cough. It does not bother me at night or when I am asleep. I am sensitive to smoke, the cold, and mostly after eating or drinking (even water). I have visited two different doctors during these years. The first one tried every method he could think of...allergy tests, X-ray, different medicament. The second doctor tested my breathing and came to the conclusion that it does not have anything to do with my longs. He prescribed me a solution to clean my throat and something to regulate the stomach acid. He advised me to position the bed so that my head is higher about 5cm than the body. he also gave a a spray to prevent running nose although I really don't have it. I took the medicament and I am still having the same symptoms. The doctor says I have to accept it as my weakness although I am still young. I gave up...that's how I came to think of alternative medicine. All your comments are appreciated.
