Help for migraine

Hello one of my close friend is having severe migraines, i have asked her to fill out the questionare. What do you recommend?
1. Describe your main suffering as detailed as you can.

Headache pain Ė in the center of my brain, behind my eyes is a strong tightening feeling and sometimes sharp.

Migraine pain Ė intense, throb in various areas around my head, immense pain that triggers vomiting, sensitivity to light.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

When I have a migraine, the pain is so intense that I have had thoughts of suicide.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

I feel that I would rather be dead than continue to live in pain.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

January 2005. No connection to anything specific that I can remember.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

The headaches and migraines are random events, not every day. Usually one time every other month or so.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

I have not been able to associate any triggers to the headaches and migraines. I have tracked my diet for over 6 months to try to connect food with the migraines but could not identify a trigger. Itís not related to my menstrual cycle either.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

I tracked my migraines for over 6 months and they are not associated to menses. I have noticed that when the weather changes dramatically (like when we get Santa Anna Winds), I get a migraine.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

I feel much better in warmer weather and dry weather.

Two remedies are indicated for your friend's Migraine.

Glonoine 30c for Light triggered Migraines.

Bryonia 30c for other Migraines.

The treatment should commence immediately by taking just 2 pellets of the remedy just before she goes to bed at night. She will decide on the remedy according to the cause detailed above, and take it sublingually even before she presents a Migraine. This will usually break the cyclical nature of these attacks of Migraine which are difficult to treat with Allopathic drugs which often are for more dangerous in the long run in comparison to the pain the patient suffers. She may also repeat the dose in the morning for a few days when hopefully her Migraines could leave her.

However in the event of her getting that familiar Aura of an incoming Migraine she can take either of the remedies indicated above but 6 pellets for the dose and close her eyes and rest till her Aura leaves her.

Her Cholesterol will be helped by Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken twice daily which is made up as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack aka Liquid Dilution in a bottle with a dropper arrangement.
If this is not available the Dry dose in pellets may be use but this is not as effective as the remedy in the original Ethanol pack
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle or 5 Pellets and shake it hard to produce bubbles. This is homeopathic succussion and must be done every time before a capful of the bottle which is the dose is taken as directed.

You have not indicated your friend's age.

Do you suffer from any gastric distress especially after dinner when you may suffer from heartburn in the early hours of the morning ?

Has you migraine any connection with this symptom?

Joe De Livera on 2010-05-25

Dear Joe, I usually don't suffer from gastric distress (pain, loose motions, discomfort) but when i eat spicy food, i tend to get sticky white stuff (reflux?) from the stomach which i have to spit out.
My migraine is hereditary since my mother has it so did her parents. However i have observed that eating nuts etc triggers it for sure after 2-3days.

thanks for your help in advance.

Dear Joe,

I am taking two drops of Bryonia 30c in morning (empty stomach) and two drops in night since 26th May. However since last 2-3 days I am experiencing some kind of strange feeling in the area just above the stomach and in the centre of my chest.
Could it be due to the medicine? If I eat anything it subsides for few minutes and starts again. Other wise i seem to be ok.
please advise

mathewfbd on 2010-06-07

It is possible that you are proving Bryonia which you state you are taking 2 drops morning and at night. This is due to the OVERDOSE you are taking of the remedy and I cannot understand the reason why you have done so by taking 2 drops twice daily. This is a good example of how a seemingly harmless Homeopathic remedy can affect you in a negative manner.

You are advised to STOP using Bryonia and all other remedies in this manner as they can cause you harm.

I find that I have treated you for Migraine last February but you did not report your response to my therapy and I would appreciate your full report

Please follow my instructions on making the Wet dose below:

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before sipping a capful of the bottle which can be used as a dose.

Joe De Livera on 2010-06-07

Dear Joe, I am Mathew and I got your response on 25th May, 2010. Looks like i have taken an over dose. I will follow your recent instructions.
Let me know if I can have a bigger dose when I actually have the symptoms of migrain or i should continue with the regular dose?
thanks,
