Baby's eye squint - help

Hi, if you could help I would be very grateful.
My 20mth old son has developed in last 3 weeks a squint in his right eye looking in towards nose.
He has always stared a lot as if day dreaming.
He is teething for the last month.
He is very clingy lately.
He is vrey healthy - no antibiotics ever and has taken 3 x 30c spegilia 3 days ago but made no difference and then 2 x 30c Cal Carb the last two days. I noticed he had a less prominent squint after first dose of cal carb but now squinting frequency is increasing again.
Has anyone ever been successfully cured of a squint without needing occulation, glasses or an operation to strenghten the eye muscle?

Thanks in advance to you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Lots more detail. Is the "squint" a turning in of the eye? or a movement?

Thank goodness no antibiotics. Any immunizations?

You have to tell us about his little personality. What kind of child is he? Preferences, and dislikes. Food pref. etc.

Is ears involved in any way? Sleeping habits. Talk of your little son like a proud parent.

Hi Sabra, you're so kind to reply.
My darling son is sleeps 12 hrs at night every night.
He is extremely happy and adventurous, very confident and always singing or trying to talk.
Lately he has become very clingy with me though (about 4 wks ago) and I can't pinpoint why - there was no change to his lifestyle or mine.
He eats his 3 meals per day, fibre, veg, carbs, proteins.
I don't give him any vitamin supplements as I try to ensure a balanced diet. He loves mashed potato, cabbage and bacon or stewed beef with all the veg. He also has sweet tooth for muffins or biscuits which he rarely gets (only as a treat).
Also likes yoghurts.

His ears are fine, no infection from what I can tell, no pulling at ears or agitation.

The squint occurs when he tries to look to the left or right - the right eye lags the left eye slightly and takes a little longer to focus. It is not a permanent "turn" but somethign like a "lazy eye". I brought him to opthamalogist who says he has refractive error but can't tell how bad without sedating him as he didn't like the eye exam with fully dilated eyes - poor pet was terrified.

So, that is why I really wanted to try homeopathy to see if his eye could be helped so that he could avoid sedation, occulation or glasses.

I hope this information is more helpful - I have only started to read up on homeopathy in the past 5 months. Would you recommend "Organon of medicine" as a good starting book.

All the best and thank you.

If you are a good study person and absorb information without becoming confused, the "Organon of Medicine" is good to learn the beginning and the philosopy of homeopathy. It will not help you learn remedies.

You can go to used book stores and get a used Materia Medica to study remedies. It is not easy to learn homeopathy by yourself. If you have the means, order books from minimum(.com). I have to write the site this way as the forum will not let emails or sites to be listed.

You probably would do well in reading other books also: "The Science of Homeopathy" by George Vithoulkas. "Homeopathy for the 21 Century" by Dana Ullman. This will be more than adaquate to fill you with information and answer all your questions. Nether of these books have remedy lists in them.

"The New Manual of Homoeopathic Materia Medica" (revised in 1998 and reprint in 2003)is a good Materia Medica to have on hand. Hopefully, you will want to do this as our world is not getting any better. You will have to become more independent of the pharmaceutical companies that want to rule the world. Not kidding!

I am studying on a remedy for your child. I will let you know soon.

Forgot, the MM I suggested is by BOERICKE.

For the baby's eye, try a dose of SULPHURICUM ACIDUM 12X. This calls for a lower potency. "X" is a lower.

One dose, every three days, for three doses. Mark on the calendar.

If you are a new user, do not let names upset you. NO homeopathic remedy is harmful, even made from poisonous sources.

Anyone allergic to allopathic Sulphur will not react in negative way to homeopathic Sulphur.

If any symptoms of any sort show up, post them immediately. I will explain.

Thanks Sabra - I will take one more day of Cal Carb and then try your remedy if no improvement.
You're very helpful. Thanks

Hey Oirish, how are you doing?

Strabismus (cross-eye, walleye, squint) can usually be help with glasses and drops, but often surgery is neccessary to set the eyes straight. Early treatment is important, preferably before age three.

Cross-eye at an early age is due to a lack of eye muscle coordination. The danger is partial loss if vision in one eye, the so-called "lazy eye."
After surgery, excercises are usually needed to make both eyes function together and remain straight.

Best wishes,

Thanks bkdaniels for your reply. I have another appointment with consultant in two weeks where I expect he will suggest glasses or occulation, (hopefully not surgery) to correct the squint. I was hoping to avoid this through homeopathy, to strenghten the eye muscle but if I can't, sobeit. Once he doesn't lose his sight, that is the main concern, but I just want to try avoid surgery or glasses if possible.
Thanks again.

Hi Oirish,
I hope your son's squint problem is cured by now.

My little daughter of 15months is also suffering from Squint for the past two months. The ophthalmologist suggested glasses(for correcting the refractive error) and oculation(daily patching left eye for around 3 hrs as i was told that my daughter predominantly uses left eye). I was told to follow this treatment of wearing glasses and patching for about 6 weeks and by that time if the squint doesn't get cured, then she has to undergo surgery.

I wanted to avoid surgery, hence thinking of alternate medicine and this is where I saw this blog.

Would you please let me know whether the homeopathic treatment suggested was helpful in curing your Son's squint or whether he had to undergo any surgery for that?

I would greatly appreciate your reply.

Thanks.
