Fibroids, tiredness, insomnia

Please can someone help me because I'm finding it hard to cope with a chronic problem I've had for nine years now. I was diagnosed with fibroids and have a large one that makes my stomach look rounded. The anaemia the fibroid caused (ie: through heavy periods) made me lose my quality of life as I'm constantly tired, both mentally and physically.

I was treated by two homeopaths; the first time was right at the beginning of the illness, (2002). I was given a tincture of Fraxinus which was very helpful for a about 18 months, then the symptoms returned again. Then I saw a student homeopath in 2007 and I feel my symptoms deteriorated, as I developed chronic insomnia which I still have now. I'm wondering if homeopathy can make you worse or create new problems, as I can trace the start of the insomnia to this time. Here's a list of what I was prescribed then over a treatment period of 6 months: Phosphorus 1M, Medorrinhum 30, Sabina 6c, Ignatia 10M, Phos AC 10M. The treatment did not help my fibroids or anaemia.

I'm currently very depressed and despondant, with no family support, facing a hysterectomy (I'm only 41) which I feel I can't have and suffering from chronic insomnia and low energy. Can someone please suggest a course of action for me. Thankyou.

Thankyou, Kadwa; here are some further details about me:

1. Mental State of the patient - depressed, withdrawn, reclusive, difficulty making decisions, sometimes irritable and angry.

2. Physical Ailments - very heavy periods, fatigue, (both mental and physical), insomnia, (difficulty getting to sleep then constant waking up), poor digestion, dry skin.

3. The likely cause for above problems - fibroids and ongoing anaemia.

4. The modalities like whether the patient feels well or worse in hot weather, cold weather etc, he is relieved by / worsenened by hot applications, cold applications etc - I feel worse in extremes of temperature, (ie: I don't like very hot or very cold weather), I feel better in rain.

Patient ID: Aviva Sex: F Age: 41

1. Describe your main suffering? Very heavy periods, leading to fatigue and anaemia, inability to sleep, constant depression.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body? Poor digestion, many foods give me gas or acid indigestion.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings? Depression, no joy in life, withdrawal from social situations.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? That my life isn't worth living anymore.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? The very heavy periods started in July 2001 and the chronic anaemia started soon afterwards.

6. Which time of the day you are worst? On waking, I feel unrefreshed and very fatigued.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Having to exert myself (with lifting, carrying, doing anything physical) makes me worse and relaxing or having a hot bath makes me feel better.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? Except for the practical problems in having having heavy periods, I would say not really.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather? I feel better when it rains and the weather is temperate, (neither too hot nor too cold).

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc. I'm all of the above; I'm a person that appears to be confident and articulate; homeopaths have called me a Phospherous personality, but I'm also very naturally reclusive and introverted. I can be quite mercurial, sensitive and easily offended but I can also be witty, fun and playful.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? I like thunderstorms although I can sometimes get a headache before.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? No, I would prefer to be alone but knowing that I have support if I need it.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? Yes, I am sensitive to all of those.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? Yes, I talk to myself.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? I'm single, no husband, no children, I have a poor relationship with all of my family except for my father. My mother and her family don't care about me. I have good but maybe superficial relationships with friends. I rarely tell friends if I have a problem.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly? I fear being betrayed, being abandoned. I don't have bad dreams.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions? I crave sweet things. I also have a craving for crunching ice cubes (which I have found is a common symptom of anaemia). My only food aversion is for shellfish, which I never eat.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal, sometimes excessive.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? Not really, although I find some foods hard to digest.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? Normal, my face sweats a lot in hot weather.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? Normal, every morning, sometimes slightly painful.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? I sleep very badly, I cannot get to sleep and then wake up many times in the night. I never wake refreshed. I generally sleep on my side in a foetal position.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? Yes.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all? I think I'm very misunderstood and disliked by my mother. I think I'm different to other people in social ways, (I'm withdrawn and reclusive).

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication? I have taken Ferrous Sulphate for the iron deficiency anaemia, I received a blood transfusion in 2005 for the same reason. I was prescribed a drug called Tranexamic Acid for the heavy periods. I was prescribed Zopliclone for insomnia. My doctor tried to give me anti-depressants (Seroxat) but I felt it had no effect on me.

22. What major diseases are running in your family? My mother and her mother also had fibroids. Both had hysterectomies before 45. There is also heart disease in my family.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance. I'm 41 but I look younger, I look about 35. I'm 5'5', medium build, blue/green eyes, thick brown hair. I look healthy except for paleness; if you look closely I sometimes appear depressed, sometimes angry, I rarely smile.

Please take three doses of Sepia 200c at a gap of 4 hours for only one day (not daily) and report back after 15 days.

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 4 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Thankyou, I already have some Sepia right now but it's 30c. Can I make use of this or is it important to have the 200c potency?

200c will work better in the given conditions.

Hello, thankyou very much for your help in the past. I'm reporting back after 15 days; I took Sepia 30c as I had it immediately to hand. I do feel a bit better than I did previously; less tired and my sleeping has improved.

What course of action could I follow now to improve my symptoms even more? Is there any remedy that will shrink large fibroids and return a person to normal health?

i think that Silicea 1M should help you.
You may take three doses of Silicea 1 M at a gap of 12 hours as follows -

1st dose in the morning
2nd dose in the evening
3rd dose in the morning next day

and see how that affects you in the next 20-30 days.

I've been researching Silicea for fibroids on the internet and saw there was another remedy called Myrristica Sebifera that's sometimes used alongside Silicea for this problem, (my reference is here: http://www.how-to-avoid-hysterectomy.com/homeopathic-treatme....

Before I order the 3 doses of IM Silicea, would you recommend the other one too, or not?

Aviva last decade
Thats a very aggressive approach. The kind of protocol that he is suggesting is used to cure abscesses and cysts. It could be dangerous to use that approach to cure uterine fibroids.
Silicea has been suggested by me on the basis of your mentals, thermal preference and physical symptoms. It is expected that Silicea in higher potency will act best here. Silicea has anti-sycotic properties and Medorr. is not required as has been advised in the article.
Therefore in my opinion you should not order Myristica.

I just added G Monster Sleeping aid to my supplements Program; it has helped me sleep and has been helping me recover my muscles from the brutal training that I put on my self. It gives me a little buzz before bed and that is good for me because I do not drink, since alcohol weakens athletic performance.

6 Perfect meals a day

Work 6 hours a day; 7 days a week
Sleep 8 hours a day; 7 days a week
Train 6 hours a day; 5 days a week
1 heaping tablespoon of G Monster 30 minutes before bed.

Wake up: 2 tablespoons of Metamucil (this is to remove the bi-products and soreness from my body brutal training
Immediately drop a deuce, and then have first meal.

Late Morning
1.5 hours: Boxing; Muay Thai; Jui-Jitsu
30 minutes circuit weights
3 times a week; mixing it up every time
1 hour: stretch

Post meal replacement while sitting in an ice bath

Late After Noon
1 hour: Boxing; Muay Thai; Jui-Jitsu; Wrestling
90 Minutes: Bikram Yoga or Power Yoga or Gimnastics
30 minutes: stretch

Post meal replacements while sitting in an ice bath

30 Minutes before bed I take G Monster to help me sleep; when training like this, my body is tired but my mind does not want to shut off; I was sitting in bed thinking and thinking. G Monster has the ability to help me relax and get the REM sleep plus the GH response to rest and recover for my next brutal day ahead of me.
