repeated bouts of laryngitis-bronchitis

Hi, my son is 19 months old. He's had repeated bouts of bronchitis since xmas. every little virus goes to his chest. lastest symptoms, high sudden fever with dry heat, hot hands face, colour normal, lively but no appetite due to laryngitis, barking cough, worse after lying down. Any ideas?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him 2 pills of belladonna 200c in the morning and evening for only one day (not daily) and see how he responds in the next few days.

Please don't give him anything to eat or drink within 15 minutes before/after giving the remedy.

Hi again
Thanks for your prompt response. Temperature worse, over 40C. Chest more conjested, vomiting and runny nose with blood in mucous. Mucous alternates between clear and dark greeny brown, moslty clear.Cough choking, cant bring up mucous. Lively during the day, much worse after lying down. Sleep very restless. Temperature rises when lying down, dosent want head to be touched. Face pale, dark circles under eyes. This is the fifth day of symptoms. Many thanks

For the time being you should give him Belladonna 200c whenever he has acute symptoms.

Please provide the following details of your son.

1.whether he prefers warm surroundings ie whether he likes to be covered or he prefers cold surroundings and open air.

2.whether he has a mild disposition or an irritable diposition. How is his attitude towards his friends and relatives?

3.What other physical problems, if any does he have.

4.At what time he feels better and at what time does he feel worse like in the morning, evening, late night etc.

5.What do you think is the causative factor for starting his problems.

6.How is his thirst for cold drinks, hot drinks and water?

7.How is the bowel movement? Normal, constipated or loose.

8.Whether the child prefers to move around or prefers to keep still.

It is not clear whether you gave him belladonna and what was the response.

Hallo again
Yes i gave him belladona 200. Current symptoms are:Temperature is lower as we speak. However, chest congestion is worse and mucous seems thicker and more difficult to bring up. Cough is choking him and has unsatisfactory result. Nose runny, clear but has left nose red and raw. Dries around nose leaving scabs.
1) He prefers the open air and constantly uncovers himself when awake and asleep, restlessly looking for cool spots to lay his face. Symtoms better in cool open air.
2)Always an irritable whining child, demanding to be held or given attention. Strong but affectionate personality. Likes hugs and kisses and rough games. Typical boy. Energetic and curious, sometimes restless. Hates to be stopped when investigating. Laid back, wont be shaken easily. Independent, insists to feed himself since 9 months. Likes to tidy up and have his hands clean.Interacts well with everyone, sociable. Sleeps well. Appetite changable, cant be persuaded to eat when he has refused.
3)Physical symtoms covered above
4)Worse when wakes up then early evening
5)Weak immune system, worse with immunizations. every cold goes to his chest. Same as I was at his age. Long history of many respiratory problems in family
6)Little thirst. Only cold drinks. Off his milk completely.
7) Bowels movements more or less same, maybe a little looser. Colour regular.
8) Better when moving. A child that will not sit still for long without being hyperactive or nervous though

I hope this covers your questions. Thanks for your time.

Hi again
My little boy is much better after last dose. However his nose is still running clear mucous that irritates the skin around his nose and he is still coughing without being able to bring up the mucous in his chest. His appetite is also still bad and he seems to have become very tempremental. He cries and throws tantrums that last a long time until he is tired out and he also is more aggressive with his sister. Is this in any way related to his treatment? Should I be concerned? Many thanks for your advice and your time.
