Medicine for common cold

Please advise some preventive medicine for cold since children get frequent cold and running nose when they get wet while playing in water or due to change of weather.
Also suggest some medicine which can be given after they catch cold.

Runny nose, with severe aching in all the bones ; sneezing and coughing from exposure to dampness or change in weather -- RHUS TOX

Either great dryness or thick, yellowish discharge, especially when discharge has been suddenly suppressed and there is a throbbing headache in frontal sinuses-- BRYONIA


The nose is greatly stuffed up, and the child starts up as if suffocating.-- SAMBUCUS

When the attack comes on SUDDENLY after exposure to dry cold winds, and there is chilliness followed by fever . nose dry and stopped up ; symptoms all better in the open air.---- ACONITE

Thin watery discharge which excoriates the upper lip. better in warmth and cover himself up.worse in open air--- ARSENIC ALBUM

simply a thick, yellow muco-purulent discharge which is bland.---- PULSATILLA

These are the most frequently used cold remedies. keep them handy and check with your practitioner before giving them for dosage and repetition.
