question about dosage selection

After selecting the right remedy, how is the dosage decided upon? I used to see a homeopath who gave me always 30c, and now my new one only gives me LM2. Is seems unrelated to the remedy, but to the homeopaths approach... I find problems with both methods...

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Every doctor has different ways of prescribing potencies.

LM are low potencies. LM2 probably is nearly equivalent to 6c. But the way is is made, it is supposed to be working better than its nearly equivalent 6C and giving less side effect (homeopathic aggravations).

I would suggest sticking to prescription.

There are saveral other factors of potency selection and frequency selection. This is one of the common guidelines.

When disease is deep seated (and chronic in nature) and medicine is correctly selected, it is common practice to use 10000c.

In case of possible doubts and as safety measures for deep seated problems 200c, 1000c is a good start.

If medicines are loosely related to symptoms, specially for acute cases 6c, 30c, LMs are commonly used.
=====

There are medicines, they change behavior and the way they work in different potency. Same medicine in one potency is effective for psoric miasm, other potency is effective for syotic miasm and some other potency for syphilitic miasm. Similarly medicines work for different constitution in different potency.

So changing prescribed potency without knowing background of selection is not recommended.

Thanks you, but I understood LM2 is actually high potency and the two scales cannot be thought of as equivalent...

lm2 = dilution of 50000 x 50000

= 2,500,000,000

between 3c and 4c

6c = dilution of 100 x 100 x 100 x 100 x 100 x 100

= 1,000,000,000,000

lm3 is equivalent to 6c. lm2 is lower than 6c. i just tried to explain in layman's language.

HOWEVER:

'In practice, it is not possible to directly compare the potency of an LM with a C. Will Taylor, MD, likes to think of an LM1 as sharing the qualities of a 6C & a 30C (working as deeply as a 30C, but as gently as a 6C); and an LM3 as similarly sharing the qualities of a 12C & a 200C.'

Sorry some correction.

LM1 is made from 3C, I forgot this point

lm2 = dilution of 50000 x 50000 X 1000000

= 2,500,000,000,000,000

between 15c and 16c.

But as mentioned in above post, it should not be compared to 'c' potency.

as your quote shows, the action of the LM/1 is much deeper than the lower C, so the comparison of dilution amount is not relevant.

My question about how to choose the correct potency remains...
