Preparation for a caeserean section

In a few weeks I will be giving birth to my 3rd child via cesarean section. Is there something I can do, homeopathy wise, to prepare for this? What medicine is advised for before and after the procedure? Does it in any way intefere with what will be given to me by at the clinic ( pain killers, antibiotics, etc)?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.

My Daughter in law had a C Section a month ago and I shall record below the protocol that she used which enabled her to return home with her baby the day after.

Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken twice daily for a week before surgery. She increased the dosage to 3 times daily on the day before surgery which was carried out around 6.00AM

On the day of surgery I gave her Arnica 30c in the dry pellets and she went into the theater with 2 pellets under her tongue.

She continued with the dose of 2 pellets every 2 hours post surgery and the day after she took the Wet dose as usual 3 times daily.

She was out of her bed in 6 hours after surgery and was walking about 3 shortly after. She returned home the day after.

She was relatively pain free and was not using any analgesic on the second day as the Arnica was helping to replace the analgesics she was prescribed.

It is unfortunate that she had to keep taking the Antibiotic Augmentin that was prescribed for a week after surgery as she was breast feeding her baby.

At the very least, get Calendula Homeopathic ointment to put on the wounds afterwards for quick healing.

Thanks for the replies.
Joe de Livera, your reply is very interesting and useful, since it was practised in person on none other than your daughter in law and have a first hand view of the outcome and effectiveness. Being able to get out of bed 6 hours after the surgery is very impressive. It took me a whole day and it was very painful.
What exactly is a wet dose? I'm afraid that the only form I'll be able to find in my country is dry pellets. I'll have to look into that. If i cannot find it do you recommend taking dry pellets, or changing the dosage?
Thanks for your replies.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before sipping a capful of the bottle which can be used as a dose.

If you live in the US you can order the dry pellets and the LIquid Dilution in Ethanol from any recognized Homeopathic supplier like:

Washington Homeopathics

I live in Europe and these sites aren't available here. Even if they were I don't own a credit card to order (I'm not the online ordering type, lol). Can you suggest something with dry pellets. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Rania

If you choose to use dry pellets, take arnica 30c or 200c one dose two and half hours before operation. And after operation as soon as you get consciousness (take one dose of phosphorus 30c if you feel giddy or nausea after your anasthesia), start taking arnica 200c and hypericum 200c thrice daily for next 2 days. From the third day onwards, take calendula 30c thrice daily for next 3 days. Continue to apply calendula ointment/cream/spray on wounds for next 2 weeks.

one dose=2 or 3 pellets.

To Maheeru

I have experimented with Arnica 200c in the dry pellets personally prior to and after surgery and can confirm that the 30c potency is far better in its effectiveness than the 200c which you cannot take for any long period.

I have been taking Arnica 30c in the Wet dose since 1996 nightly and at age 81 I can testify to its amazing qualities which I have recorded in other posts.

Hypericum 200 is OK in the Wet dose but NOT in the pellets if used for over 24 hours. In the Wet dose it can be used safely for long periods every 4 hours when it loses its analgesic properties.

I may need to start a new thread for this, but I'll post it firstly here and I appreciate any responses.
I spoke with the homeopath that has treated me in the past. I have eye conjuctivitis, got it from my kids. Pulsatilla is my contitutional remedy and has helped me with many issues. I had to take it during pregnancy at several points to help with those issues (mainly respiratory- expectoration). Dosage was 2ooch, never smaller.
Anyway, the dr has now advised me to take a single dose of 1M for the conjuctivitis and some minor phlegm I have. I told him that I'm 35-36 weeks pregnant and that I worry that it may induce labour. He said it won't. Should I take the dose. My baby is NOT breech, to need pulsatilla's help. Can I take it for all other issues without worrying about giving birth prematurely.
The doses I have usually taken in the past are 200ch, 1M and once or twice 10M.

I am very surprised indeed to learn that your homeopath has confirmed that Pulsatilla is OK even after you have informed him 'I told him that I'm 35-36 weeks pregnant and that I worry that it may induce labour. He said it won't.'

Any homeopath worth his salt should be aware that Pulsatilla especially in the higher potencies is the last remedy to be given to a pregnant woman especially in the later stages of pregnancy.

You are advised NOT to heed your homeopath's advice in your own interest and that of your unborn baby.

Your conjunctivitis is only very temporary and it very likely that the Arnica will help to shorten the duration which is usually 3 days.

Thank you! You put my mind at ease, because I've been reading up on pulsatilla and can only find associations with breach babies and labour induction, in late pregnancy. I definitely won't take it!
