Allergy and Asthma questions

My daughter is 3 years and 6 months old and she has been suffering from allergic asthma for almost two years now. The very first asthma attack was caused by stress – 3 days after I returned to work and cancelled my maternity leave.
Ever since now she has the very same symptoms before an asthma attach – starts with running nose, itching rash on her neck and around the ears (rarely on the face but most often on the neck and under the hair). Usually it is worse on the right side – the running from the right nostril and the rash. Then in 2 or maximum 3 days the nose dries out, becomes blocked and she starts coughing with a dry cough every 5-10 seconds. The cough becomes metallic, and this is the very last step before the severe constriction in the chests. Usually her tongue would become very white and furred 2-3 days before or together with the running nose and she would wet her pants – it is ALWAYS a symptom of the up-coming asthma attack before even the nose starts running or any other physical symptom is present.

She is very attached to me, and has fears of being left alone. She is warm-blooded, loves to be out in the open air and cold air/cold wind always relieves her allergy and asthma symptoms. She feels pretty good in winter at minus 10 degrees but suffers multiple asthma attacks in spring and summer. She gets worse at night after going to sleep around 10-11 p.m. and always around 2-3 a.m. Prefers to fall asleep while lying on her stomach holding my hand.

She is on regular medication with SingleAir 4mg (Montelukast) and Ventolin (Salbutamol) during attack and Xyzal (antihistamine) during spring and autumn.

Besides her allergy/asthma problems she is very healthy and has only been sick twice during her entire life.

I would appreciate your help since we have visited so many doctors up to now and all they say is “Take this corticosteroid and wait until she grows up and manages this allergy by her own!”

Additionally her skin is dark, dark eyes and curly hair, she sweats a lot all the time and she is very heavy but wasn’t so fat before starting the mediactions although both me and her father are not small and thin.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I have helped some children with Asthmatic symptoms like your daughter's with Blatta Orientalis 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily for a week when we can review her progress.

If she catches a cold or a cough her Asthma may flare up and you will have to take steps to ensure that she is given every chance to stay away from catching colds when she is on my therapy.

You will also order Ars Alb 200c in the Dry pellets to be taken on a SOS basis if necessary. You will then give her 4 pellets sublingually and you will observe that her attack subsides in about 20 minutes.

You will stop all other drugs and inhalers when using this therapy.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before sipping a capful of the bottle which can be used as a dose.

Dear Joe De Livera,

Thank you for your fast response!

I would like to ask should I start with the Blatta Orientalis 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily for a week now and get back to you in 1 week or should I wait for any allergy/asthma symptoms to occur? She is in between two asthma attacks at the moment and looks (and breaths) fine.

Thank you very much once again!

The therapy I have prescribed is to be used daily irrespective of whether or not she is currently suffering from Asthma.

However since you state now that she is not suffering from Asthma
'She is in between two asthma attacks at the moment and looks (and breaths) fine. '
you may give her just ONE dose nightly before she goes to bed and you should hopefully discover that she may not suffer from any future attacks.

Dear Joe De Livera,

As prescribed, I gave to my daughter only one wet dosage of Blatta Orientalis. She had just started some dry cough and sneezing in the evening. I gave her the doze. Her sleep was calm, she only coughed a little around 00:30 a.m.

Yesterday she was the best child a mother can ask! No coughing, no sneezing, she was calm, happy, played and ate :-)

What should I expect during the next days and should I repeat the Blatta Orientalis wet dose in case any other dry cough and sneezing appear again?

Thank you very much in advance!

I am copying below my advice to you in my last post:

'The therapy I have prescribed is to be used daily irrespective of whether or not she is currently suffering from Asthma. '

You will give her just ONE dose just before she goes to bed.

Report her response weekly.

Dear Joe De Livera,

I have been giving one wet dose of Blatta Orientalis every evening. Yesterday she had a stress day with unexpected change of daily routines. In the afternoon she wet her pants and during the night around 2-3 a/m/ she started coughing. First the cough was as even she has expectoration on her throat and in the morning the cough became dry. At the moment the cough is dry and not very intensive – double or triple slight dry coughs every 3-5 minutes.

Could you advise change of the homeopathic remedy?

Thank you in advance!

Your daughter's cough and wetting her clothing at night does not warrant changing the remedy. In any case the BO is not responsible for her cough and It is possible that she is catching a cold and her cough can make her Asthma flare up.

I note that you have not commented on how she responded to the BO which is the more important news that is of interest right now.

Have you got the Ars Alb 200c pellets to be used as prescribed in the event of an attack?

You can use steam inhalation to help her cough as it will liquify the phlegm and hopefully stop her cough.

Up to now there has been no response to BO – no cough, no sneezing, no running nose, her sleep and appetite are as usual.

But I want to emphasise on the wetting – maybe I did not express myself correctly. I did not mean that she sweated her clothes during the night but that she wetted her pants in the afternoon (I found that the medical term for this in order to be absolutely clear is “Incontinentio urinae”). She is very strict and sticks to what is known to her, does not like changes. Yesterday we had an unexpected high stress situation after which she urinated in her pants which is not typical for her at all.

Yes, I do have steam inhalator and I bought Arsenicum Album 200c.

Thank you once again!

'Up to now there has been no response to BO – no cough, no sneezing, no running nose, her sleep and appetite are as usual. '

I do not understand your statement as I feel that the very fact that she has not presented Asthma for the last week seems to me to be positive although you seem to belittle it.

The fact that she wet her pants has nothing to do with the BO as I stated in my last post.

This is not unusual for a child of 3 years.
