Skin Infection - Folliculitis???

Hello Doctors - thanks for taking the time to read my question. For the past 6 months I have been getting many small brown/orange/tan dots on skin, all over my body. They do not go away and seem to be spreading. I went to see a dermatologist and he told me that it was folliculitis; however, I have no raised bump, these dots are flat on the skin and not raised. They do not itch at all. I am 30 years old, white with pale skin. I do not think that these are age or sun spots as I'm only 30 and I have spots on skin that has never been exposed to the sun, such as my buttocks and top of feet. Any ideas what this could be, and what remedies you recommend? Thank you so much for the work you do!
