Singer in trouble

Hello,

I wonder is there anyone out there who can please help me. I am a singer who has been struggling with some throat issues for over 5 years. I have been to many doctors and alternative practitioners. Nothing has worked so far that has not damaged my voice. While my condition is not life threatening, in a lot of ways it has taken the life I had from me and I feel I am eternally battling this issue, I used to love my job but now I fear every gig. I would be so grateful for any advice. Here are my symptoms:

1. I have the feeling of something dripping down the back of my nose and throat and settling in my larynx. I can't cough it up. When I try to swallow it comes back up. Sometimes I swallow involuntarily from it during a song, like a gulp. Sometimes it hinders me from singing with a clear voice.

2. I was tested negative for allergies but some antimhistamines and sudafed helps it but they dry my vocal chords.

3. Nerves make it worse and, unfortunately, this condition has caused me to develop severe stage fright.

4. Coffee can get rid of it sometimes. Other times it makes it worse. White wine clears it for a while but I don't want to rely on that!

5. Sugar makes it worse. Also tea.

6. Sometimes it is accompanies by an itchy nose and sneezing. Seems to be worse in Summertime.

7. I think it has affected my energy leveles. I am quite driven and would be type A personality to an certain extent but everything seems a huge effort these days.

8. I used to be unable to talk about my vocal problems without getting extremely emotional. I'm a bit better now but I tend to keep the issue to myself a lot.

9. Sometimes I get quite depressed about how this little condition has affected my life so seriously.

10. I used to have mild IBS as a teenager and also used to get a lot of headaches. They have not troubled me for many years.

11. I sleep very well usually. I need quite a lot of sleep.

12. A very, very long vocal warmup can usually shift a good bit of it temporarily. Also saline nasal rinses. They give me a few minutes relief.

I hope those are enough details. Please ask me anything you like, I am relatively new to this.

Many thanks,

PúcaBeag : )

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The therapy below can hopefully help you.

Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken twice daily.
Ferr Phos 6x dose 3 tablets taken twice daily.
Bryonia 30c in the Wet dose to be used as a gargle before bed to keep the throat coated with the remedy.

No Coffee, preserved meats like sausages, ham bacon (Saltpeter) Stop using all other foods that you have noticed exacerbate your problem.

Report progress in a week.

Thank you so much for replying! I will order those remedies as they were not available in my local health shop.

Does 'in the wet' mean I put them in water?

Many thanks.

My apologies for not copying the instructions to make the Wet dose below in my last post to you:

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made up as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also known as Liquid Dilution.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake it hard to produce bubbles.
This is homeopathic succussion and must be done every time before a capful of the bottle which is the dose is sipped as directed.
