This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
He is under encorate which is Sodium valproate 500 mg (200 in the morning and 300 in the evening)every day. It has hepled him in controlling his seizures but he is highly unfocussed in academics. He can work orally in english and other subjects, but when it comes to writing he finds it difficult to put it in writing. Another aspect is dong Maths where he is unable to understand and apply the concepts in working out the problems. pleses help. We would like to put him in Homeopathic medication which will not have any side effects.

Can you please give the following information in respect of your son.

1.Whether he prefers warm surroundings ie whether he likes to be covered or he prefers cold surroundings and open air.

2.whether he has a mild disposition or an irritable diposition. How is his attitude towards his friends and relatives?

3.What physical problems, if any does he have.

4.At what time he feels better and at what time does he feel worse like in the morning, evening, late night etc.

5.What do you think is the causative factor for starting his problems.

6.How is his thirst for cold drinks, hot drinks and water?

7.How is the bowel movement? Normal, constipated or loose.

8.Whether the child prefers to move around or prefers to keep still.

Please describe his epileptic attack in details from begining to end.

1.He prefers cold enviroment.
2. He has a irritable disposition during studies specially while writing and doing maths otherwise he is a very happy go lucky child.
3. He does not have any specific physical problems.
4. He feels fine at any time of the day if he is watching tV, playing video games or playing with his toys(mainly car) But if he is made to do academic work any time of the day specially maths or any form of writing work then he is feels irritated.
5. The causative problem arises when he starts to do his studies mainly maths or anything where he has to concentarte. he may answer the asked questions which involves critical thinking very well, but when it comes to writing those answers he falters there.
6. He prefers cold drinks rather than hot drinks He even prefers cold milk throughout the year even in place like mssoorie where we stay. He doesn't prefer soup and other hot drinks. He also like to have the fizzy drinks although we generally do not give very often.
7. His bowel movement is normal.
8. He prefers to move around mostly. He use to move around in class also but has started sitting in his place of lately.
9. He had his first epileptic attack on 5th dec 2004(born oct 1999). He was just blank for about 2 minutes. He again had the attack about five days later. Then we consulted a neurologist he was under the treatment for more than 3 years durng whch he did not have seizures. But suddenly in sept-oct 2 007 he startedhaving similar siezures(partial complex seizure) again. The doctor adviced sodium valproate. He has been seizure free since then. But he has been very erratic in his concentration in his wherever concentrated effort is required. He is quite rude with his peers
