I would like to try a higher potency in that case. What do you suggest?

I do not believe a higher potency is prudent. If you move up to quickly the potency will do nothing, or it will aggravate you quite strongly.

There is a process to follow when treating with homoeopathy. It is not worth the problems that can occur to rush through it.

Repeat the 200c first with 3 hits to see what happens.

I would recommend that you do not use the Sul-Ac. I've made a different recommendation at the other discussion.

I hope that brisbanehomoeopath doesn't mind. I think there is a different medicine necessary in this case.

I was reflecting on the fact that my husband and I are two very different persons, almost opposite and generally irritated by different things. I was considering causticum which was advised by mazhamhm in this thread. I thought it was very similar to me, why would you discount it?

albapapa last decade
People who need the same remedy at some point in time can be very different people. Think of the wide differences in people who have used medicines like Thuja or Sulphur.

I don't see the psychological symptoms in Causticum that you describe in the other case.

that you describe in the 'Stramonium 2' discussion.

Well it is your choice. I don't understand why anyone would want to change a remedy that helped after trying only one dose. In the end, this is not my clinic it is just a public forum so you can do whatever you wish.

She's made a few comments saying there was improvement with the Sulphuric acid, and some that indicate that it didn't provide enough relief.

I just see Mez. so significantly in these symptoms, that I think it's worth going back to.

One of the comments on Sulph-Ac.
'I didn't really get any improvement from it the first time. I mean, when a remedy has worked for me, like the natrum sul, or the mezereum, it has been quite dramatic and stable.'

Regarding the Stramonium 200 she wrote:
'However, the effect of stramonium 200 did not last and when I repeated it, did not work.

That comment she made about not being any improvement was a mistake. She clearly stated earlier, several times, that Sul-ac had helped her. When the first dose is not pursued properly, and enough time is allowed to pass that the initial effects fade, the patient often forgets that a remedy had some positive effects.

As I said before, the patient is free to do whatever she wishes. However, it is not true that Sul-ac did not help her. What is true is that she has only taken one dose, one dose rarely improves every symptom permanently, and I believe that most practitioners here would not be trying to change their own remedy selection after one dose.

Just to repeat what the patient actually reported from Sul-ac:

'I took the Sulphuric acid as you prescribed two weeks ago. I found an improvement. I am less angry and irritable but still find it difficult to things calmly(while I do something I keep thinking about what I will do next and I can't wait to finish), the impatience is till there. '

'The sulphuric acid has helped for the anger and the irritability. The impatience is still there, the feeling of having to finish quickly and hrying people is still there. I think the improvement is not fading away'

'One thing is certain about this remedy: it allows me to see myself, to think brfore I act and lose my temper and also whilst i have lost it'

The patient will have to reflect on how she felt on those remedies and make up her own mind.

I, more than anybody else would like to see clearly in what I felt when I took the sul acid. One difficulty for me is that the physical problems, the extreme proneness to catching flu like symptoms and the mental ones are strictly intertwined. In the sense that if I am feelinf physically well, I am more relaxed and more patient. Sometimes I reflect on my impatience, I ask myself: why am I so impatient and my answer is often that I don't feel well. I am not saying that if I am well, i am also very patient, no, but that the situation worsens when I am physically ill. About the sulfuricum acidum, I think that the truth is that I didn't feel a significant improvement, an improvement that would make me feel drawn to it and wishing to repeat it, like it was for the stramonium and the mezereum. In the case of the mezereum which I took in the 15ch I should probably stress that I took it for a specific problem, yellowhish-green discharge from the nose with a slight temperature, i took it for few days and then stopped because I did not notice any improvement. After two or three weeks during which I had forgotten about this remedy, I noticed that this problem had disappeared. After five or six years of having it almost every day and being dependent on antibiotics, it had gone. I could not understand why, then i remembered about this remedy I took few weeks before, and it was the only thing that I could relate it too. Howeve after two weeks the problem came back, so I took one more dose of mezereum 15, and the fact that it disappeared immediately, confirmed my hypothesis. But that is all it did, it did not improve anything else. I used to think that my proneness to colds and viruses was a direct consequence of having a constant infection in the sinusis. But now I know that is not so. I still catch colds all the time. I also have forgotten about a wisdom tooth which sometime gets inflamed and infected, especially when I have a cold and I am more vulnerable. But I don-t want to remove it, at least not for now. That is what I think I feel about the sulf. acidum. I am left with a doubt about the sulf acidum and so I will take another dose if it is noy too late.

If you'd like to use the Sulph-Ac another time, that is fine.

I still think that the constitutional state itself is so prominently Mezerium, that Mez. would be my recommendation.

Brisbanehomeopath suggests to repeat the 200c potency and hit it three times. However the previous Sulf ac I took was pellets one dose and I am not sure there is the liquid form here. What should I do now?

albapapa last decade
Do you have a small bottle with a lid, or a bottle with a dropper that you can clean? Best way to make it is to dissolve those pills in water in a small bottle, hit the bottom of the bottle firmly twice only, then put a single drop of that into a 1/4 cup of water. Stir thoroughly and take a teaspoon into the mouth.

Succussion (hitting of the container in which a liquid dose is kept) is important when repeating a dose of any medicine.

If there is no effect from the sul-ac within 3-5 days then we can eliminate it as a possible curative remedy for you.

I would like to add three things which I have forgotten and that may be relevant to my profile: 1) I still suffer from water ritention, with shhooting pains in bladder on bad days (excess of mould or pollen). I cannot sunbathe because I become bloated as if I was actually allergic to the sun which in fact does not tan me. And, though I have never felt suicidal, I feel closer to some of the people who are gone, people from my childhood, than to those who are with me.

Did you use the Sulf-Ac a second time? What was the response?

Homeopathy International 1 last decade
I had to order it and has arrived today. So I will start tomorrow. My sinusitis is very bad in this period for the cold wheather and the mould. I need a remedy that helps me with this as well. Last night, I decided to go for a walk, it was cold, when I came back I started with a neuralgia in the upper teeth and then it became a more diffused rheumatic sensation. I had to take an apirin and some paracetamol. This is just normal for me.

As I've said in the other discussion, your symptoms are very distinctive of Mez., and that is the medicine that I would recommend.

-

The exact kind of irritation that you describe having towards your kids is very much Mezerium. I was surprised, because I advised the same remedy to your husband.

The patient that needs Mez. gets irritated and angry over irrelevant things, especially by their subordinates, and then regrets it soon after. The Mez. patient also has amelioration by rubbing.

I would recommend that you get Mezerium 30c. Put 10 drops in 8oz of water, and drink 2 tablespoons. Please tell us how you feel after about 24 hours.

MEZ. SYMPTOMS
'amelirated by warmth and by rubbing my skin hard. In fact to feel better in the motning I take a hot bath and rub my skin'
'sometimes I lose my temper over very small things with my children.'
'I cannot have the necessary patience that you need for children who by necessity are slow.'
'when I wait for some member of the family to come back I become very anxious and I start anticipating bad news.'
'nervous tummy problem'
'impatient and intolerant sometime.'
'impatient with my children'

On Mezerium Kent says:
'Sensation of goneness, fear, apprehension, faintness in the stomach, as if something would happen; every shock, pain and hearing bad news, cause this apprehensive, hungry, faint, weak, all-gone feeling in the pit of the stomach. It comes on when the door-bell rings, if the patient is expecting the postman, while waiting at the depot for the arrival of a friend or the departure of the cars; on being introduced to sonic one, he experiences a thrill beginning in the stomach is 'frightened in the stomach.'

The other two key symptoms of Mezerium that I see in this case are anticipation of bad news, and the 'nervous tummy problem'.

Kent says...
'if the patient is expecting the postman, while waiting at the depot for the arrival of a friend or the departure of the cars; on being introduced to sonic one, he experiences a thrill beginning in the stomach is 'frightened in the stomach.'

Again, you've got one body, and all symptoms are the result of your overall state. The correct homeopathic medicine will cure many problems in the patient.

I think I should try the acidum sulf since I ordered it, don't you think so? The other question I have regarding mezereum is the following: I took it few times for the smelly secretion and recurrent infection which brought on also some temperature, and I have not had such secretions since. Why did not improve all the rest? Why was it so selective?

albapapa last decade
I have another plea: could you suggest a remedy for acute conditions in the mean time? my sinusitis is worst on cold dry days, crispy days with no wind and no rain, but quite sunny. It affects the nose, the right side of the head. the neck and spreads to shoulders. Antinflamatories, even strong ones do nothing if the pain sets in. Only if I catch it at the beginning there can be an improvement. It is ameliorated if i go up in altitude.

albapapa last decade
From the perspective of homeopathy, all of these conditions are connected. One remedy will treat everything (with the exception of accidents, acute illnesses, and miasms). Some symptoms will be cured before others.

About Mezerium, cured the 'smelly secretion and recurrent infection which brought on also some temperature, and I have not had such secretions since.'

That the mezerium cured these symptoms is a very good sign. Unless you used the Mez., and it stopped working, I would've continued with the Mez. I think that the sinusitis is caused by the same factors that the Mez. and other remedies would cure. Therefore, my recommendation would be to use the Mez. for all conditions.

Symptoms will be cured as your body can cure them. We can't selectively cure the most bothersome symptoms first.

There are many reasons that a remedy might cure one symptom and not the others. Usually this is because it only suits that part of the case (and not the underlying cause itself). In my experience, when I have seen a symptom disappear under the action of a 'partial' similar, unless I am able to find the deeper remedy this 'cured' symptom will often return, possibly months or years later.

It is possible, using several partial similars, to create a substantial increase in the overall health of a person. This is not my preferred method of treatment but sometimes seems to be all I can do.

However, the danger with partial similars is that they can actually suppress the symptom - this is born out by my observation that they often return at a later date during the action of the simillimum (deepest acting remedy), which may create a return of old symptoms as part of the curative process. This frequently includes the symptoms removed by partial similars.

You really need to make a decision and do something. Theorizing about which remedy is right for you is only prolonging your suffering. Either continue with the Sul-ac follow someone else's advice - otherwise you will not get anywhere.

You mean that the sul-ac will be negative for me? I have bought it now on the assumption that I should not exclude it too hastly, I was going to start it today. Tell me, should I try it or not? I don't know if I want to make this decision by myself, I don't think I have enough comprehension of how I have been feeling with the sul-ac, apart from what I wrote-+.

albapapa last decade
I'm not opposed to you trying the Sulph-Ac again. If you think it was helping, then I do think it's worth a try. I just see Mezerium as the remedy in your case.

I have taken the sul-ac and I will wait few days. I have a question in the meantime. I have said that I had great benefit from natrum sul 7ch taken at the beginning of August: it cleared the edema which made my legs painful and heavy and stopped me getting bloated and tired at every change of wheather. I stopped it after two weeks, because I was so glad that I feared having too much of it. The improvement of that symptom which was the most bothersome for me and lasted 20 years is lasting so far. I would like to know why you don't think that my remedy could be natrum sulph. I read it is for hidrogenoid constitutions and ailments cause by damp places, which is my case. My problems started becuase I slept for many years next to a mouldy wall, as I said. Besides I fit the natrum sul constitution. Why did you exclude it?
