repitation of potency

It is about treating complex cases were more than one remedy may be required. But the problem is once you start with say 30c and graduate up to 10m and have experience amelioration. But even after waiting 3 months the symptoms still persist and indicate the same remedy can U come back to 200c which is allowed as per principles...or keep on increasing the potency to 50m Cm etc? or repeat 10m again.

question 2 is after some amelioration you may need to address some different symptom with a new remedy and go back to the first one after improvement or complete the first complains and then treat the second one (both are chronic problems)which may not be possible as the second problem also needs to be addressed

thirdly, in one case after giving up to 10m I gave LM2 but here LM remedies are not available and I need to continue so I need to come back to Centisimile potency... can I start from 200c again or what?

please anybody advise.....

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I have never in 17 years seen a patient graduate from 30c up to 10M and still have symptoms. This would suggest to me that the remedy is the wrong one. A remedy that is indicated, but fails to cure, is not indicated (except in our imagination). Amelioration and cure are not necessarily the same thing. Cure means the symptoms do not come back, do not persist, do not remain in any form. At some point a practitioner has to let go of the remedy they liked so much, and accept that their choice is not helping the patient.

When I have used 10M in a case, I have rarely had to repeat it, and the improvement is usually quite large and very deep. Of course the specific problem might require more repetition if there is something causing relapse like constant orthodox medication, or very severe tissue changes. I can count the number of cases where I have gone to 50M on one hand.

I have not found going down in potency to ever be successful in creating further improvement. A remedy only creates improvement by being stronger than the person's natural disease. To be gaining improvement at the level of 10M, or to have needed to go this high, the disease must be of similar strength.

I actually prefer to think of potency as depth rather than strength. The higher the potency the deeper the remedy goes, until it reaches the depth at which the individual's disease eminates.

The method you describe of going back and forth with remedies is well known in homoeopathy. It is, however, mostly done when a single remedy cannot be found. I prefer to actually find a single remedy, the Simillimum, as this will create a much more stable and profound level of improvement. I am not sure exactly what the question is here though.

Thanks!brisbanehomoeopath!

my understanding is exactly same as you have described. I am not a qualified doctor but having seen some good success I practice as a hobby. So I am very cautious ..(hence I waited and made this request to you)I have studied extensively hence aware of the homeopathic principles. But this case puzzled me.

To elaborate the patient have liver trouble (mild fatty liver, pain in right hypochondria and soft stool, occasional bilious taste), chronic blind large pilesprotruding during stool and also anger(breaks thinsg and repents ), melancholia, frustration, averse to society and work.On the other hand sexual trouble following celibacy and history of much masturbation....symptoms are that of conium) If I consider the constitution i.e. his original character/constitution ( conium is the result of a lifestyle..)he manifests, sulphur(sensitive, clumsy philospher, very good teacher and high intellect, hunger at 11, chronic piles) Puls( seeks open air, mild , timid) staphysagria( seeks solitude to masturbate in his youth, ) and lycopodium(sensitive, anger, hungry, eats at night after waking from insomnia, gouty, very responsible, tearful etc.)

He came with knee problem which improved (cracking knee cap w/o Pain) after a dose of Puls...then to try out on the chronic issues he was given suph 200 and sul 1m in april 2010 and then CalcC 200 and 1 m in May 10 (as he had lyco 1m which improved his liver and stool problem in 2009 and now relapsed) I gave him Lyco 10m.in June 2010. My idea was to try out this triad remedy ( he is strongly psoric) and then if his sexual symptom does not improve I would go for Conium. Because if i take all the rubric it indicates Lyco and sulph strongly, But if I concentrate on mental and sexual sphere it is Conium now...he was a staphys in his youth..(he is 51 and single ) he takes BP medication and nothing else but he takes cannabis as a sleeping aid (he has insomnia) he had been through emotional agony in terms of his sexual frustration and early death of parents and younger brother and sister. Being cautious I gave him Sul Lm2 on sept7, 2010 ( LM is not available here but I could get LM2 from doctor).hoping that this would cure him but very little change hence I came to you guys..

If I am to summarize the case

1.sexual frustration
2.Long exposure to sad happenings and mentally dwelling on it led to hopelessness and now at 51 cannot hope for much change in life
3.He is a non-conformist, non-religious by character, so very lonely too. averse to society although a good conversationist full of humor people enjoys his company but he does not
4. Liver trouble
5. chronic piles.
6. facially slightly emaciated look wise as his eyes sunk following death of younger brothers and sisters. weight-wise 1 or 2 kilo down only.

He had very good high paying job which he gave up for teaching mainly deal with his melancholia, work stress and loneliness.

He practices good food habits and does exercise

I suspect (he would not know ) that his previous doctor may have given him Conium also ...Now this is another issue ..
you may prescribe wrongly if you do not know the previous remedy.

I am about to give up the case requesting him to go India to see a good homeopath. The problem is most doctors do not really practice classical homeopathy here.

But this is also a challenge... what are options now...

Generally I find, that if it appears that several remedies cover the case, I do not understand what is important in the case. It is quite likely to be a remedy you don't know if it looks like so many polycrests.

The problem with the polycrests, is that they are a tiny percentage of the total materia medica. Many patients need other remedies.

Well, I spoke to somebody who is a professional homeopath. Most of the symptoms apart from sexual related one are not that debilitating meaning is not causing major concern now just nagging or disturbing, the family history of 3 cancers out of 4 deaths is a worrying issue.Reveiwing this he thinks the concentration should be given to sexual issues i.e. life long celibacy thus abstinance, casual sex without much satisfaction and heavy masterbation with sexual fantasy (now reduced due to weakness. to the best of my understanding it is either Staphys or Conium...Well I do not know if his previous Doctor gave him these if so what potency...where should we start...
