Complicated eczema case
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a case I'm working on. I've just qualified, and there's so much I don't know... and now I'm ill, exhausted, and working against the clock!Patient is female, 40 yrs old. Presenting with patches of flaky, red eczema all over the limbs (upper and lower) and on the chest. Redder in the morning, from the heat of the bed. No strong modalities. Very sensitive skin, sometimes a sensation as if the skin 'is alive.'
History of gynaecological symptoms - fibroids on the uterus, mild endometriosis, polyps on both ovaries. Periods - heavy, painful but regular. On the first day of the period, she experiences a completely washed out drained feeling, goes to sleep and wakes up with renewed energy, as if she 'could run a marathon'.
Trying to conceive, but is finding it difficult. Wants a child but is worried it is getting too late. Describes herslef feeling 'disappointed'. No obvious emotions,but says she can cry and show her emotions. Smiles when talking about herself.
Quiet disposition, a perfectionist, very driven, always tries to fill her time, looking for things to do. Loves creating/producing things, enjoys doing projects and seeing things through to the end. Feels she has suppressed her creativity because she always has other things to, and has to live up to other's expectations. Practical, not 'touchy feely'.
Family history of Reynaud's disease, 'chronic airways disease' and high blood pressure. Sister had strokes in her 20's.
Bottles up her anger, rationalises it. Lack of repect/people not doing things her way angers her. Controlling.
Vegeatarian, 'can't stand meat'. Thirstless, forgets to drink.
Likes to be outside, working in the garden.
Lack of sleep, used to managing on 5 hours. Can't get to sleep early, but once is asleep 'is comatose'. Doesn't remember her dreams.
Cold person, feels the cold but often gets 'boiling hot' feet.
I prescribed Sulphur LM1 as it came up top when I repertorised the case. She did well in the first week, then upped the dose. Saw a slight aggravation, but despite my written warnings, she upped the dose again. There was a stronger aggravation. I advised her to drop the dose back to 5 drops, but the aggravation did not go away and she started to use steroid cream again.
Now I don't know if the remedy was wrong, or what. There are lots of other remedies I've looked at but nothing has jumped out at me, and I need to finish with this soon as I'm really not feeling well!
She is a lovely woman, but wants to know when she will receive her remedy and what it's made of, etc etc. and I'm worried if I don't get it out to her and the remedy isn't well indicated then I will lose her as a patient.

She is sick and has very uncomfortable symptoms and wants you to jump to her commands. You have given her your power. You have to learn to be firm/kind/and in charge.
The reason you are not feeling well is that she is psychically sucking you dry. She is living on your energy.
This is why she has the nerve to question you and not follow your directions.
I tell you for sure that she is taking other meds while you are struggling to give her your best.
After 40+ years, I have seen it all.
"get sick" and become unavailable for two weeks before agreeing to speak to her again. I guarentee she will be in the same condition. She will also be in the same condition a year from not. She gets attention from being sick.

I think there is some truth in what you say. The main problem is that I don't feel that I know enough about remedy reactions and what they mean. I told her that it didn't look like the remedy had done much for her, because her energy is now low and there have been no other changes in her, and that I would look for a better suited one. I did this because Sulphur is the most common remedy in all the rubrics, and it often comes up top but is not really suitable. Now she expects a new remedy and I would find it hard to keep my authority by going back on what I've said. But then I wouldn't feel good about giving into pressure.
Do you think that Sulphur fits the case? Or can you suggest another remedy that seems better?

No, I hardly ever use Sulphur. Her remedy is TUBERCULINUM 10M. One dose per week for 3 weeks. I suggest you do not tell her which remedy. Give her the dose, when it is due. If you give her three, she will take it all at once. Not unsafe, but she will demand more. You must control this one.
She probably will go through some reoccuring symptoms. I would be suprised if she did not. Tell her homeopathy will take her backward in time and some things will be uncomfortable.
