Experienced Homeopaths - What Is Your Opinion on the Cell Salts
I haven't worked with the cell salts but see many people here prescribing them. I've been reading about many cases of cancer cured with cell salts in Chicago in the 1900's.I'd appreciate any explanations or insights that homeopaths have about cell salts, the theory, practice, and use with regular homeopathy.

The answer is Yes. Indian doctors routinely give tissue salts along with the choosen homeopathic medicine and no interference is seen.
They act on different planes and won't interact/ spoil each other's action.

Yes. One typical example is back aches. Suppose it is a Rhus tox backache. We normally prescribe Rhustox 200c, a certain number of doses, but invariably give Calc. flour 6X too simultaneously to strengthen the musculo skeletal system.
It always works for the benefit of the patient.

I've seen Boericke & Dewey: The Twelve Tissue Remedies, but it really doesn't have that much information in it.
Do you recommend starting with the 6X? What format of a kit of cell salts is best to start with?

Kent says of Calcarea Sulphurica:
'Many years ago Schüessler introduced this remedy, and it has been used extensively upon the biochemic theory. Many excellent cures have been made in this way that most of us are able to recognize as homoeopathic cures, though it is a sort of crude homoeopathy.'
I think that Dr. Compton Burnett was of an opinion that cell salts basically worked homeopathically.

I've seen this article before. Is there anything a bit more advanced?
For example, I'm very used to working with Nat-M in homeopathic form. Does that help in understanding it's Biochemic use?

The preperation process of tissue salts is as advised by Hann. (Decimal scale).
You can look at 6X potency as a very low homeopathic potency too. Very low potencies cover a broader spectrum , but may not touch the core issues.
Comparing them to vitamins is correct to the extant that
Vitamins are given in addition to alllopathic medicines to correct certain imbalances
Tissue salts are given in addition to homeopathic medicines to strengthen the system in a very general way.

BTW.... dear Joe has been recommending Nat Phos for better bowel movement for donkeys years here at ABC...it works very well.
Kuldeep says Silicea is the 'king' among Cell Salts.
We all had very good experiences with Cell Salts.
I have treated severe colic with a combination of Mag Phos and Nat Phos many times...there are case in the back pages of ABC here too of such cases. (Cases wich did not yield to any other treatment).
Make your own judgement.

Youngsters with moderate high BP...I have given them only Kali Phos 6x and seen very good results appearing in 2 to 3 weeks in each case. (Age group 20 to 30 years ..due to stress full living of today).

I am skeptical, yet interested.
How does one identify the dose, or how many to use at a time, and how long to use them? Does one use them indefinitely?

Normally use for 3 weeks ...in 6x potency. Four pills ...4 times a day.
The combos come in 3X potency.
For children use 3x potency...2 pills at a time.

Cell Salts perform miracles and are being used now every day.
Let me share one of the cell salt I recently suggested to a lady that you already know her (Overalready) as you have inquired from her in the past. The following is the copy of her post.

Just wanted to update you and thank you soooooo much for helping me with the black speck problem that I've been suffering with for approximately 6 months off and on.
I've taken the ferrum phos for the past three days and have been speck free. Thank you sooo much again. What a wonderful Christmas present!!! If I should happen to see the specks again can I try using the Ferrum Phos again? Will it hurt me?
I am now going to take care of my hemorrhoids with the cell salts that you told me to use. I'll have to order them on line because I know my local health food store doesn't carry them.

Are there any negative effects caused by the cell salts if used too much or incorrectly?
I haven't seen any of the solid Hahnemannian Homeopaths such as Dr. Luc or David Little even discuss the cell salts, and that is one reason that I am at least partly skeptical. The people that I've seen promoting cell salts in the natural health world seem to be those who use homeopathy more superficially.
However, I am thinking of getting some and testing them to make my own assessment.
My doubts are partly summarized by Nash's comments in the URL you listed.

Bio-chemics are a different branch of homeopathy.....developed by Schussler...a German.
If you want to go into the depth of all this...buy a book 'The 12 Tissue Remedies'.....by Boericke and Dewey.
William Boericke ( I think I am right) is the same whose Materia Medica of Homeopathy is widely read around the world.

I have only rarely seen the tissue salts cure anything. They appear to be used more palliatively - many patients of mine who have used them need to continue using them to maintain the results. This always worries me, and I have them immediately stop for this reason alone.
On occasion I have seen a patient have symptoms actually cured (although never the whole case) which I believe was because the tissue salt had partial homoeoapthicity.

My interest comes from reading about a doctor Carlst who grimmer writes cured 200 cases of documented cancer with the cell salts.

Cancer is a different kettle of fish - usually you need to treat the local area, use pathological remedies. This is a situation where the very limited focus of Tissue Salts could feasibly be useful. This same approach (the cancer protocols) I find to be quite inappropriate for normal use where the whole case should be taken into consideration.
I am more talking about the other kinds of chronic cases I see, where they are used for perceived nutritional deficiencies.
