Help with panic attacks

I need help. I am 31 and I have suffering from constant panic attacks. I have hashimotos hypothyroidism and 4 or 5 months ago I went to hyperthryoid. I ended up in the hospital due to heart racing, shortness of breath and a panic attack. Since then I have went back to my normal meds and am back hypo, but I am still having constant panic attacks that is turning into agoraphobia as well (since I have so many panic attacks I am in constant fear of them happening in public). I have general anxiety all day long. There probably is not a day that goes by in which I do not have a panic attack. I have filled out the questionnaire that could be helpful. I just want my life back. Thank you so much for reading. Danielle

1. Describe your main suffering? I have hashimotos hypothyroidism. About 4 months ago I went hyperthyroid and suffered constant panic attacks. I am now back to hypo, but I am still having panic attacks every day. I am starting to have agoraphobia because I have so many panic attacks I am afraid to go anywhere. I have bought a few bach remedies and some homeopathic mixtures, but they have not helped at all. I have shortness of breath, heart racing, dizziness and fear during my attacks.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body? Right shoulder pain, heartburn, IBS after the panic attack, face flushing.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings? Constant anxiety and fear.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? As described above, hyperventilation, shortness of breath, dizziness, headache, heart racing and heart palpitations.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? It started roughly 4 or 5 months ago when my normally hypo thyroid went hyper. I have since went back to hypo, but the constant panic attacks have not stopped.

6. Which time of the day you are worst? Night, roughly after 8 pm.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Extreme heat and sometimes extreme cold make the situation worse. All heat though causes a suffocating feeling, and generally cold , open air makes me feel better.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? No

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather? Cold weather (no noticeable difference in humid or dry weather).

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
Nervous, quiet, moody

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? I normally love them. I feel a sense of peace from rain.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? Yes, I feel better talking to someone
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? extreme light, smell and noise bother me during high anxiety states.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
Tapping on my chest sometimes makes me feel better and I do bite nails and pick at things.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? I love my son! I have been antisocial towards my friends due to the extreme panic, and I really do not have a whole lot of friends at this point. I feel a little alone during this ordeal. I am not married.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly? I fear that I will never be able to live my life normally without panic. I feel like I cannot accomplish the things I want to. I often dream of old boyfriends or someone chasing me.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions? I crave sweets, and I do not like meat.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? normal

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? normal

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? Gluten, tomatoes

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? normal

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? Bowel movements are frequent, especially after panic attack they become loose and yellowish in color.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? I sleep better on my right side. I wake up several times a night, and am very restless. I have trouble falling asleep.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? This has not been a concern to me lately.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all? I am perhaps a bit eccentric. I march to the beat of my own drum. I am very independent in my ideals and values.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication? I take levothyroxine for my thyroid and atenolol (a beta blocker) for my racing heart and high blood pressure that has developed from the constant stress. Can you please tell us what 'mixtures' you used. We need the exact components of the homoeopathic mixtures.

I have tried a variety of different mixtures. I have taken them at different times looking for some relief but none of these have really made a big difference in my panic attacks. The calms forte might provide SOME relief, but generally nothing really helps. THe bach rescue remedy worked initially, but it only works for a few seconds.

I took Anxiety Relief by natural care. This includes aconitum napellus 9x, argentum nitricum 8x, arsenicum album 9x, aurum metallicum 8x, gelsemium sempervirens 8x, 30x, hyoscyamus niger 6x, 12 x, ignatia amara 6x, 12 x, kali carbonicum 12x, 30x, moschus 12x, natrum muriaticum 6x, 12x, 30x, and piper methysticum 3x, 6x, 12x, 3x.

I have tried bachs rescue remedy spray and pastilles. I also tried aspen and mimulus.

I've tried hylands nerve tonic which contains: Calcarea phosphorica 3x, HPUS, Ferrum phosphoricum 3x, HPUS, kali phosphoricum 3x HPUS, natrum phosphoricum 3x HPUS, magnesia phosphoricum 3x hpus.

The final one I tried is calms forte by hylands. This contains avena sativa hpus 1x, chamomilia hpus 2x, passiflora incarnata hpus 1x, calcarea phosphorica hpus 3x, ferrum phosphorica hpus 3x, magnesia phosphoricum hpus 3x, natrum phosphoicum hpus 3x.
