Lycopodium

If you take 2LM lyco on a daily basis for a few months every day - will you prove the remedy. If you do prove the remedy what would be your symptoms and do you stop for a while and then start it again.

If you do prove lyco could it make your symptoms worse i.e. bloating

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Yes it is possible that you might prove the remedy. If you get a proving the symptoms will be new, different to your usual ones. There are tens of thousands of symptoms associated with this remedy, so there is no way to list all the possibilities here.

If your symptoms get worse, this is not a proving (side-effect) but it is an aggravation (medicinal effect). Often, worsening of current symptoms is a sign that the medicine should be stopped, especially on the LM potencies. When aggravation begins, it is typically a sign to stop that potency and move up to the next one.

However, I would not do so if you are self-prescribing. Someone with experience in using homoeopathy should supervise such a step.

So how long are you supposed to take an LM remedy

kohler last decade
That depends on the patient, the disease, the particulars of a case. There is no set time a person takes a remedy - they take it until it stops working. Usually an aggravation takes place at the end of the usefulness of an LM - that might be 3 days, it might be 3 months. It needs to be assessed regularly by a homoeopath to ensure it is stopped when necessary.

So you stop taking an LM remedy and you get an aggravation - is that what you are saying?

kohler last decade
Yes that would be one of the signs to stop. Another would be the disappearance of all the important symptoms. A third would be a marked change of state which would indicate a new remedy.

I know this sounds terrible but I think I'm addicted to lycopodium even though it's not doing what I feel it should - some days I feelit helps my stomach issues then other days I don't.

By this I mean I'll stop taking it - try something else and then always go back on lyco. I really want to stop because I do feel that it's probably run it's course for me now. I've gone from 1 LM and then moved on up to 2 LM - what do I do because I'm worried I'm not doing myself or my health any good. It does help in some ways but then in other ways it doesn't - yet still I take it. I know you homeopaths will go mad at this and what I've said but how do I get of this roundabout! I probably need a totally different remedy now! I've tried borax and that does help the bloating but gives me really bad moods so I stop and go back on lyco - so you see now where I'm coming from.

Please advise me - what do I do?

If you continue to take a medicine that only helps some of the symptoms while leaving others untouched, it is possible you will suppress your disease into a deeper, much more serious one. It is possible after a long period of suppression you will become incurable.

Are you asking someone here to take your case? If so, you must first stop the Lycopodium and wait for at least a week or so to report how the symptoms have settled (or reappeared).

No-one who is on a truly curative remedy would ever describe themselves as addicted to it. This is the language of a sick person, not a healthy one. It is unlikely that Lycopodium is a truly curative medicine for you.

Don't think I'm sick but just wonder why I'm so drawn to it and keep going back to it when after all this time it's not cured me.

Yes if someone would like to take my case I'd be happy to post.

If you are not cured, you are sick. Addiction of any sort is a sickness even if you were not showing any particular physical symptoms (which would be unlikely anyway).

Sickness in homoeopathic understanding is quite broad. Sickness is not merely the absence of symptoms, but the absence of health. Health should be a positive characteristic of all levels of the person (mental, spiritual, emotional, physical). Health is Freedom - whenever anything restricts our freedom it is considered disease.

Don't class myself as 'ill' just have this problem with the bloating stomach when I eat. Maybe the nat phos Joe recommends would help?

In general, an LM2 might be used every 10 days or every month for a period of a few months to a year. Over that time there should be continuous improvement and the complete cure of many symptoms, until there aren't any symptoms left.
