Alternitive to coffee?

I need some alternitives to coffee that will not effect remedies. I am a heavy coffee drinker. I love the taste and it is very calming for me. I drink it when I am stressed. I desire hot drinks when I get up in the morning and night. I really need to get off this stuff. I am attempting to stop smoking and I associate smoking with coffee.

Thank you

What about "ersatz coffee" - roasted rye with cichory? It is weaker than coffee and contains no caffeine, but smells and tastes like coffee...

I have never heard of it. Is it widely available at health food stores? Will the aroma of it have any affect on remedy? If not I will absoulutly try it. I feel that I need to break these habits before I go any futher with remedy and for health reasons. I can not even sleep on my stomach for the lack of air from smoking. Constant troat/sinus/respitory infections. I smoke more than a pack a day. But to give that up the coffee has to go. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think it should not affect homeopathic remedies - it's more like a herbal tea, just the rye, cichory, sometimes barley, all roasted (that gives the coffee-ish taste) and ground to powder. You can put sugar in it or milk or whatever you like in your coffee...

I do not know where are you from, but try the health food stores and ask for a coffee substitute. I tried googling it, here's the link: http://www.google.com/search?hl=cs&q=coffee+alternative+rye&...
Browse some of the sites to get an idea what to look for...

I am in floria. There is a great health food store near by that has an entire grocery store in it including anything homeopathic ever needed. So I should be able to find it there. Thank you very much I will deffinatly get this!

Good suggestions here for coffee substitutes - if you cut down on coffee then do it gradually to avoid withdrawal symptoms. The easiest way to do this is to drink smaller cups or weaker cups rather than cut down on the frequency.
I must admit I don't usually cut out my coffee and remedies still work - I wonder if it is just the remedies botanically connected to coffee that are most affected by it?

Erika, I think it is more related to sensitivity... Some people are more sensitive to homeopathic remedies and a little coffee here and there would do no harm. Some people are less sensitive and should not drink coffee. That is my opinion.
I also agree with your suggestion that some remedies are more affected by coffee and some are less affected.
