The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Attn: Dr. Joe De Livera please help

Hello,

I am asking this question for my significant other. He was wounded in Iraq in 2003. He suffered lots of injuries and is a lower left arm amputee. I was discussing the article you wrote on arnica and he wanted to try it for his chronic pain. He currently is taking daily narcotic pain medicine and it still doesn't address the pain. We found some Arnica 30x at the local natural market, but I don't know the best way to have him take it. He also takes a medicine to sleep at night as well. What do you recommend that I have him do/take? I would like to have him feel better but he is definitely a skeptic so I want to get this right before I have him taking stuff.

His injury also entails a mild TBI, pelvic injury and loss of spleen.

What do you suggest and how should he take the Arnica 30x...do I need a different type of Arnica or is this fine for now?

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks

To Pippi

I am glad to note that your 'significant other' has decided to use Arnica to wean himself from the narcotics that he is taking for his pain and I hope that this remedy which I used myself post surgery 10 years ago after a Retropubic Prostatectomy can help him.

Please convey my concern for his suffering since 2003 and I shall be glad to help him in any way I can in the future as his case represents a challenge to my knowledge of Homeopathy which my detractors have classified as 'Joepathy' as I do not abide by the classical rules under which they labour.

Let us start his therapy with Arnica 30c (Not 30x as stated by you).
He will take Arnica 30c in the Wet dose and also take Hypericum 200 in the Wet dose both of which must be made up precisely as instructed below and in 2 separate bottles.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done at least 6 times before sipping a capful of the bottle as prescribed.

He can take a capful of Arnica thrice daily for a week and later reduced to twice daily thereafter.

He can also take a capful of Hypericum 200 and he will discover that within 10 minutes the pain he suffers from will abate and this will continue for about 3-4 hours after which he will take another dose. The great advantage of using Homeopathic remedies for pain control is that there is absolutely no side effects like with drugs like Morphine which are recognized to be addictive.

Arnica will help his sleep and you can give the last dose to him before bed.

You mentioned TBI and I was not familiar with this term which I looked up on Google and here is what I found:

Traumatic brain injury (TBI, also called intracranial injury) occurs when an external force traumatically injures the brain.

I am indeed very concerned and sympathize with the pain he suffers from which you have described as: 'His injury also entails a mild TBI, pelvic injury and loss of spleen. '

Please let me know if he is mobile and it would be useful if you can please complete the Patients Questionnaire that Homeopathy International has indicated in his post above.

Dr. Joe,

Thanks so much for your help! I didn't fill out the questionairre because I didn't know all the symptoms he faces and I wanted to give him something that could help. Once he sees results, he is more likely to come back and fill out the questionairre himself! I will be getting him the remedies you mention and will let you know how it goes! He is mobile. He is a lower left arm amputee and has all the other injuries as secondary. I just want to help relieve him of the pain and discomfort he has on a constant basis.

I will keep you posted!

Thanks Again!
Jaime
