desquamative cheilitis

Please has anyone experience of this illness?
My son (28) has suffered terribly with it for 2 years - lips which swell, go tight, split and peel, get infected. There is also constant pain made worse by bending forwards or by any exertion. Doctors have tried many very strong drugs bot nothing makes it go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The problem was probably created by the use of antibiotics at some time in the past,

This tends to upset the gastro-intestinal tract [GIT]
which in turn leads to Candida . A normal part of the digstion prcess uses Candida , but the antibiotics destroy the normal checks and balances that keep the Candida from multiplying out of control.

Once this condition is reached there is little that allopathic medication can do .

Details of the condition are ---

Oral infection by Candida is fairly common, particularly in infancy and old age, or in association with antibiotic or cytotoxic therapy, or in diseases where the neutrophil or T-lymphocyte responses may be impaired. In the older age group, the wearing of dentures is a predisposing factor. The lesions present with discomfort both in the mouth and at the corners of the lips. The mouth and buccal mucosa show patchy or confluent, white adherent plaques; less commonly the mucosa and tongue are sore and glazed—erythematous candidosis. Angular cheilitis usually accompanies the oral lesions. In long-standing cases, the plaque may become hypertrophic, with oedema of the mucosal surfaces, or the mucosa may appear glazed and raw.

Does you son dislike sympathy/pity . Has he liked/disliked salt . Is he better or worse at the seaside. Is he a bit reserved with people/
