This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Alcoholism, like any addiction, must be treated by looking at the whole person, by understanding where it has come from, how it developed, how the problem affects the person's life, how they manage it. The mental, emotional and spiritual elements of the problem must be properly understood.

Alcoholism is not a first aid situation, and naming a list of remedies used for the condition is even less likely to work for this problem than it might for other kinds of problems. Alcoholism is often connected to a number of other issues, sometimes to mental health ones. It needs to be treated carefully and by someone with experience both with homoeopathy and and with addictions.

I have successfully treated many cases of Alcoholism with Arnica 6c in the Wet dose taken thrice daily.

Many patients have reported that they discovered that the urge for that next drink was significantly reduced in a few days and they lose the urgency in a few weeks.

The patient will have to cooperate by not exposing him/herself to situations which can promote drinking.

I have also been very successful in helping chain smokers to QUIT their habit.

Please note that this is not a classically formulated therapy but one that is another of my 'discoveries'.

Reducing the desire to drink alchohol is NOT the same as curing alcoholism. Alcoholism is a syndrome that includes many behaviours that are destructive, and may include a number of mental health issues (depression, violence, low self-esteem etc).

Curing alcoholism means the patient does not have to avoid those situations any longer, as the reasons they became alcoholics begin to fade away. It takes time and obviously the behaviour may have started early in their life, so a number of issues may need to be uncovered, discussed and treated.

It is important when assessing 'cure' to follow alcoholic or any addiction cases for a number of years. True cures do not relapse, and should remain well even when confronted with the same stresses or problems that would have triggered their binges.

Considering that many alcoholics are quite deceptive and deceitful around their habit, cure can only usually be assessed properly when the patient is seen in person, and relatives or friends are questioned. On a forum like this, they are quite likely to lie about it.

To David,

I really wonder what makes you to rush to conclusions as you usually do to criticize me in almost every one of my posts on the ABC.

Here is what I stated in my post above:

'I have successfully treated many cases of Alcoholism with Arnica 6c in the Wet dose taken thrice daily.'

You will observe that I did not state that I have CURED alcoholism in an alcoholic and cannot therefore understand the reason for your long winded outburst. I am only too aware of the problems facing a chronic alcoholic as I once had a close friend an alcoholic and a chain smoker who was my first patient who died a few years ago of Diverticulitis. You may like to know that I CURED him of his addiction to both vices. I used Arnica and as you are aware, there is no reference in the classical homeopathic texts to justify its use for these 2 vices. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe that it is just the lack of humility in your psyche that impels you to rush into my posts like showing a red rag to a bull, which makes you so obstreperous and determined to attack me so very unnecessarily which you do when you invariably do not see the wood for the trees.

It is possible that your attitude is due to your habits formed as a teacher of this science as you stated you have been one, sometime in the past.

It is not in my psyche to hurt anyone but if someone hurts me deliberately as you usually do I am always available even at my advanced age of 82, to take up cudgels which I usually do by firing a broadside to silence the offender.

I am not in Homeopathy for any money. It is just that I have discovered so many uses for standard Homeopathic remedies which you are obviously not aware of as you have been brainwashed into believing that only remedies that prescribed in classical homeopathy can cure.

As you are aware, I have disproved this theory time and time again.

My advice to you is to read my posts carefully in the future before you rush to print.

Ah well you are amusing at least.

I understand alcoholic patients need a complex treatment , are you suggesting to look for a constitutional remedy for each case ?

Yes to make the person no longer an alcoholic, you would have to cure the reason they became one. This would mean deeper treatment than focusing on just the use of alcohol.

As any alcoholic who is in a program knows, just because you stop drinking, does not mean you stop being an alcoholic. It can be a life long struggle for them.

However, many of them have not used homoeopathy.

What about receptors theory , some doctors do not agree with this medication because its content of alcohol .

amel2009 last decade
The receptor theory is a physiological one. Homoeopathy is not based on the idea that disease is physiological, but that it is energetic (related to a disturbance in the life energy).

Homoeopathic medicines have very little alcohol in them, and they can be given in a very diluted form so that the alcohol cannot be tasted.

I have treated alcoholic patients - the medicines themselves created no problem because of the alcohol content.
