Asthma and frequent throat and chest congestion

My father is 62 years old and he has developed asthma for past 3-4 years. He used to smoke a lot earlier but has reduced it to 1-2 cigarettes in a day for past 1-1/2 yr. He gets cough and congestion very often and he lives on a second floor and gets totally out of breath after climbing up the stairs.
Two years back he was hospitalized due to infections in lungs and congestion,, and he was getting suffocated because of not being able to breath properly and was on oxygen for few days. He has also got the vaccination for immunity towards throat and viral infections.
But still he catches them frequently.
Kindly suggest a medicine which can help him for breathing problem and cough.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give your dad 2 doses of Thuja 200C, 4 drops in 2 sips of water, 2 times a day, Only for one day.

Also, please purchase Natrum Sulph 6x and Ipecac 30C, but, don't start taking it.

Many prayers for your father's good health.

Hello doctor, My father has taken two doses of Thuja yesterday,, and he is mentioning that he is feeling a little more energetic today as compared to past few days. No noticeable difference in breathing as of now. Please suggest which medicine should he take now?

sagrawal last decade
Please start taking Natrum Sulph 6X, 4 tablets under tongue, 3 times a day, for 2 weeks.

So, when he encounters any breathing problem or nausea, then, he may take a dose of Ipecac 30C, 4 pills under tongue, as needed.

A bundle of more prayers for your father.

Regards
Nawaz

If dr. Nawaz agree,

Ippecoc is good but if alternate dose of Ars.Alb-30 is repeated it would be much effective to the patient.

Thanks dr.mahfooz, your usual kind help is greatly appreciated. Well, Ipecac is only for temp. relief. Actually the patient must take Nat Sulph. I wonder when he started on this remedy?

Dear Sagrawal, Please also take Ars. Alb 30C as suggested by Dr. Mahfooz.

Many prayers for your good health.

Nawaz

thanks a lot doctors, I appreaciate you guidence and suggestions.. he has started taking Nat Sulph as suggested by you. Ipecac he took only twice when he face extreme breathing problem.
And for Ars Alb 30, also please let me know how and what doses should I give to him.

sagrawal last decade
Please take Ars Alb. 30C, 2 drops in 2 sips of water, 2 times a day, for 1 day. You must not take Ipecac 30C this day.

So, when you take Ipecac 30C as needed, then, you must take Ars. Alb. 30C the next day as suggested above not on the same day.

thanks for you suggestions doctor.. Here I want to add few more details abt the problem that my father is facing.

1. He is diagnosed to have COPD: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
2. He used to smoke a lot.. up to 25 cigarettes a day.
3. Always have caugh.
4. since last 2 years.. he has become very weak. He doesn't look weak from outside but has no energy.
5. He feels so low on energy all the time that even a normal walk of 15-20 meters leaves him running out of breath.
6. He doesn't get any asthama attacks as such,, but after any kind of work which involves some energy.. like walking, lifting any objects, climbing up stairs and even bathing makes him out of breath.
7. For past some time he was having continuous pain in legs and body.. and doctor prescribed calcium tablets for that after completing that course he is feeling a lil better.
8. He eats pretty ok.. niether much nor less but still don't have energy.

After talking to him today morning I realize that being weak (no stamina) is his main problem which is causing him these breath problem as well..

Please consider these points also in your analysis and suggest if there is anything which can be done to overcome so much of weakness.
I sincerely thank you for the advice.

So, did he take Ars. Alb 30C?

Are there any stomach issues?

What happens after he takes these remedies?

nawazkhan last decade
Hello doctor, sorry I was not able to answer your question yesterday,, I have spoken to my father today and he told me that he has not taken Ars. Alb as of now, But he was telling that he took Ars Alb 30 for about 5 months.. almost regularly but is not taking it for past 6 months now. He told that he had very marginal relief during that time but not much.
And regarding the stomach,, he has a tendency to get stomach upset every now and then, after every week or 2 he catches cold and cough and his stomach also gets upset, which leaves him weak.

As I have mentioned in my first post that 2 yrs back he was hospitalized and was on oxygen for about 12-15 days. Since then he has not gained his health back.

And he was telling me that when he took Thuja as suggested by you last week, he felt some relief overall for about 2 days, But when he took Ipecac after climbing up stairs he didn't feel any relief.

I am really worried about him.
Please let me know if you need any further details.
Thanks in advance.
