Staring at tv snow with the sound off aborted mania in bipolar disorder

A neighbor came over recently who had extreme pressure of speech, a non stop rapid fire monologue and was quite giddy and I remarked that sure was wound up today, even more than I had ever seen her, and she replied that she was bipolar, (her roommate just told me it was an 'extreme' case, and in a manic phase which she told me lasted for two to three weeks usually and then became depressive phase. I suggested she try the below described staring at tv static or snow which causes the person to go into a theta brainwave state, which she went back to her apartment and did and when I saw her three hours later she was obviously normal, calm, no pressure of speech, no giddiness and she said it had worked and that she felt calm and not depressed, She said she looked at the tv static for 3 minutes , and it immediatly reset her brain, calmed her.

This is what I am talking about. going into the theta branwave state ,which many sites on the internet tell us is a very healing state , which I can confirm, which begins within within ten seconds, you will feel an obvious change in you brain as you do so, a calming antianxiety, by simply staring at tv snow,
the 'random white noise ' that is created by tv static or 'snow', with the sound turned off, whtch
puts one in that theta brainwave state, which is also the brainwave state when under hynosis..

It takes an analogue tv to produce visible snow or static, not the more modern digital tv sets, that began replacing analogue tv's five years or so ago, but they can be bought for ten dollars at thrift shops if you dont have one. Only analogue tv's produce visual static or snow and do so when not tuned to a broadcast channel or when the cable is off. Find a channel with no distortion in the snow, no lines going through it, just pure static, those black dots jumping around on a white screen..

If this is a universal effect on bipolar, then if the person just does this each episode or remewal, thenof the same episode, its likely they could also avoid the depression phase , as my neighbor appears to have done since I have read that is a protective mechanism to keep the mania from becoming too far out of control with no brake so if it were aborted in another way then there would be no need for the body to responds with that sinking into the depressive stage to stop the increasing mania.
