This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
That is a proving symptom - Coffea stimulates and causes wakefulness (as Coffee the raw substance does).

If the person has wakefulness (insomnia) that matches the Coffea kind, then instead it will go away (resulting in sleep).

It could be a partial similar, palliating part of the case but also creating new symptoms of its own (wakefulness).

You shouldnt be mixing remedies though. If you are being prescribed one don't start using another for your insomnia. This will cause serious problems for your homoeopath.

i think it was liek an intercurrent

Yeah that isn't an intercurrent - that is an admission that the 'constitutional' isn't helping the whole case. It would be totally different if you went from one state (aur-m-n) into another (coffea). But it appears one part of the case (at least) is not being helped, so remedies are being added or changed.

This is usually a sign that the homoeopath is unsure of what your actual chronic remedy is. It happens, often it is a process of trying things out to see what works. However it doesn't show much confidence in the choice, and personally I would be looking for a new remedy rather than adding extra ones into the mix to confuse things.
