Anything that causes pain, discomfort, anxiety or any other negative reaction might be useful for understanding the true nature of a person's problem. It may not be immediately transferable across to a remedy name however. Just like any other issue or expression a person has or uses, it needs to be understood in light of the whole case.

In Girl's example above, the access points might be:-

Odd
Freak
Overwhelmed
Disgusting
Bee hive

Exploring those words may lead deeper into the case. But at a superficial level it may be impossible to truely know what it means. Homoeopathy is all about depth, detail, objectivity, observation, examination.

It might. Really, everything the person says or does or feels might be a window into the deeper state. Our provings do not have every possible like, dislike or reaction a human being could show however, so it might not be as simple as going to 'look it up'.

A good case taker doesn't take things at face value, but lets the patient expand on their symptoms until it is properly understood.
