Homeopathy Medicine Strengths

I am new to homeopathy. I've used a remedy with some success but am curious as to what the strengths of medicines mean. That is, 6X versus 30C etc. The range seems to run from 3X up to CC (I think). In any case, does anyone know where I can find a table that shows what the different strengths represent? Or, is 3X less than 6X potency etc.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The C or X represents how the remedy is made. C means the medicine is diluted 1 part to 99 parts of water/alcohol. X means the dilution is 1 part to 9 parts water/alcohol (so there is more of the original substance in it). X potency tends to be more aggravating than C.

The number represents how many times that dilution was done. So 12c is lower potency than 30c etc. The potency represents potential healing power, which ideally must be stronger than the disease it is treating.
