diabetes - type 1 along with other autoimmune issues

My son is almost 11. He has had diabetes for 5 months. I have been trying homeopathy without success. He also has a lot of allergies (foods and environmental) and learning and behavior issues. He was born with a cleft lip and palate and I was treated for thyroid C prior to the pregnancy. Just trying to figure out a remedy that would help his 'whole' issue.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Have you been under the care of a qualified homoeopath?

Does the homoeopath follow the basic principles (Single remedy at a time, Choosing a remedy based on the individual symptoms of the person, Minimum dosing with plenty of assessment by the homoeopath)?

Diabetes 1 can be tough to cure. Is your son on Insulin at this stage?

How were you treated for your thyroid condition?

Just in case you are not well versed in how homoeopathic prescribing is done you can visit Dr. Du Schepper's site.

I had thyroid C ( they won't let me use the C word on here :)) It was removed and I had radioactive iodine treatment.
I have seen a homeopath, but she seems to be having a really difficult time finding his remedy. She has him one called carcinosin now. She has tried multiple ones, but one at a time. We have been working on this since November when he was diagnosed. I had actually started seeing the homeopath for my son 2 weeks prior to diagnosis. He had one dose and then was diagnosed with diabetes :( I was seeing the homeopath for his allergies and learning and behavior issues. He has had a poor immune system since birth. The diabetes was just another added.

He is on insulin. He was on very little until last week. I don't know what happened. She tried him on Ignatia and that night, his blood sugar went haywire. Probably a coincidence, but it's been high ever since. He was on 5 units of insulin a day. Now he's on 11!! Big jump. Could be something killed the last of his islet cells. Could be a virus...who knows

I am concerned to note that your 11 year old son has been diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. You have no choice but to continue with the Insulin that you are giving him and I would suggest that you read the cases of patients whom I have treated for Diabetes with Arnica 6c in the Wet dose who have reported that their BS level was helped to be lowered with the addition of this remedy taken precisely as prescribed below in the Wet dose.

I may mention here that I am currently treating some patients in Colombo for Diabetes Type II who are only taking Arnica 6c which they have used to replace the drugs prescribed. One patient presented a BS level of 535 and is now controlling BS at 100-105 which is normal. He takes a dose thrice daily.

You should discover that the Arnica 6c should reduce the BS level by a perceptible margin and the maximum that has been reported is 33% in the case of a Type I patient.

I shall copy my therapy below:

I have pioneered in the treatment of Diabetes both Type I and Type II with Arnica 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done at least 6 times before sipping a capful of the bottle as prescribed.

I think that your son is in a good position though, having only recently developed diabetes, to have it cured.

Most of the patients I have seen had been diabetics their whole lives, with many years of insulin use (with dependence and side effects). This has created a very difficult situation for homoeopathic treatment.

How experienced is your homoeopath? Many serious pathologies require someone not only with skill but with experience too.

Changes in the state of a patient triggered by remedies are opportunties to find a better medicine - it takes an alert practioner who is both flexible in their approach and very knowledgeable in our materia medica to manage and ultimately cure many serious conditions like diabetes.

Thanks for the info. Is the arnica safe for dosing? How quick is the drop? Should I dose when he is going to be inactive?

brisbanehomeopath,
My homeopath is not that experienced, but her mentor apparently is ( the one we started with). He was 'too busy', so he passed us to her. She is very nice, but I'm not sure about the treatments. I'm getting frustrated because we have been through 8-10 remedies for him so far. I am losing hope. I was optimistic that we could save the function of the last of the islet cells until this last week when his insulin needs doubled :( So sad. I really think there's an underlying autoimmune / inflammatory connection. I just wish we could figure something out. She decided to go the route of this remedy because I had the C and she thinks this remedy is needed to go any further.. Does that make sense?

'Thanks for the info. Is the arnica safe for dosing? How quick is the drop? Should I dose when he is going to be inactive?'

I hope that you realize that 3 DROPS of Arnica 6c in 500ml water cannot possibly be considered as UNSAFE to be given to your son. The dilution in the water is infinitesimal and all I can state is that I have personally witnessed that it has helped hundreds of patients some of whom are using it in place of the standard drugs to control their Blood Sugar.

Many patients have reported a positive reduction in their BS level within 24 hours while some reported a reduction in 12 hours. Diabetics of both Type I and II have reported this reduction.

If you do decide to give it to your son please feel free to report any difference in his BS level after the Arnica.

Please note however that you must not stop the Insulin. You should monitor the BS level within 24 hours after the first dose and report any change here on the ABC.

It is understood that if you use Arnica you may note use any other homeopathic remedy.

Joe - Which Arnica is this or is there only one? How often do you take it? If using another remedy for the 'whole' body like in classical homeopath, will this one cancel that one out? Some homeopathic remedies interfere with each other from what I've read.

I have prescribed Arnica 6c and if you live in the US you can get it from:

I can see that you have not read my therapy which I shall copy again below:

I observe that you have some reservations about using Arnica and if so you are advised to not use my therapy which I suggested to you after I read about your 11 year old son who is a Type I Diabetic.

I read your posts. Thanks. I was just reading about Arnica and it said not to take more than 10 days in a row or something. I didn't know if this was some other form or something.
