14 month old twins with fluid on ears

Hi,
My name is Jennifer, I have 14 month old identical twins who have been diagnosed with fluid on the ear.
Their hearing tested as fine, and they have only had one ear infection we are aware of, we treated the ear infection using homeopathic remedies. We treated using Belladonna for fever, Chamomilla for irritability (and they were concurrently teething) and ferrum phos for bright red ear drums. The potencies were all 30x. We also did garlic oil, which frankly seemed to help the most. We have a good quality otoscope. While we can't appreciate the fluid as we aren't good enough for that, we can see ear infections and their progression.
I think that the fluid is caused by a cold they currently have - we have been very unlucky and EVERY time right before we go to the pediatricians for a visit they get a cold! So I don't believe this is chronic. Our pedi suggested we see an ENT as they had fluid on the ears for several visits. So we made the appointment and they got colds five days before the appointment!!
The ENT said tubes, and we said no, so we compromised. She will look at their eyes every month for three months and if they still have fluid then she will suggest tubes. We are very opposed to tubes. So i'm trying anything to prevent tubes. The ENT tested their hearing and it was normal.
I looked at the ABC of ear aches but they are too young to answer the questions. Also they aren't really in pain from an infection per se. One of the babies is more 'snuggley' and likes to be held a lot, the other is more 'funny' and likes to be held and push your face and laugh.
We have the hylands kids kit and the borion blue remedy box, I can probably source other remedies you may prescribe quickly.
Take care

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
First off, if you can visit a professional homeopath, that would be best.

If not, the remedy Pulsatilla and the cell salt Kali Mur are the top remedies for fluid in the ears. There is a book called 'Mastering Homeopathy' by Jon Gamble that gives an excellent overview of all the possible remedies for ear problems. I believe it is available on Amazon, if not, just search the internet.

Jennifer,
I under stand they are too young to answer the questionaire.
But you described them very nicely (One of the babies is more 'snuggley' and likes to be held a lot, the other is more 'funny' and likes to be held and push your face and laugh.)
If you could describe them more I'll be able to reach the remedy.
also describe how they behave when they have the colds or when they are in pain?
also give info with their names so i can tell whom to give what.

Hi Sanremo,
THank you for your response! I will try pulsatilla. How many should I take? Since the girls are not acting in pain from the fluid I have no way to know if the remedy helps until we see the doc. We are trying for an appointment, but are going away next week, and I know the remedies take time to work, so I wanted to get something started if possible, even just a basic remedy as their ears are being rechecked in just over 3 weeks - I feel like the clock is ticking.

Hi yogeshrajurkar,
Thank you for your response. Juliet is the one who likes to be held, but then likes to push your face away and giggle. She likes meat and vegetables. She is a VERY fast mover. She usually laughs at things that are necessarily funny (like pulling on her sister). She is an imp and when you tell her 'no' she looks at you with a sly smile and tries to do it again to test you. When she wakes up at night if we try to bring her to our bed she giggles and laughs for awhile until she realizes she is expected to sleep, and then she cries for her sister. She has a frog lovey that she LOVES to sleep with. She sucks her thumb but only with that lovey and only to go to sleep. She sleeps very well, never complains to go to sleep and when she wakes up lays very quietly in her crib holding her lovey.
Colette is the snuggly one. She likes to be held, she has a duck lovey that she kisses and brings to you to kiss for her, she likes to sleep with him, but isn't as addicted as Juliet. She is less trusting of strangers than her sister. If she wakes in the middle of the night and we put her in our bed she rolls over and holds one of our noses and falls asleep. She enjoys carbohydrates more than meat, and likes vegetables. She sucks her thumb any time she is cuddled, and when picked up always puts her head right on your shoulder. She is not as fast as Juliet, however, she is a climber and will climb anything she can. She is heavier than her sister (all the carbs?) by about 10oz (less than 500g). She cries when you put her down in her crib if she feels she needs more cuddles, and she whines as soon as she is up, or she shouts to her sister to get up.
Neither girl is fearful or dislikes loud noises, when the vacuum is on they crawl as fast as they can to it. They crawl right into the ocean and love to play in water.
When they are sick they are both more irritable, but really otherwise their usual personality characteristics are the same. If they are in bad pain they are nearly inconsolable, no amount of cuddles will help them. When they have runny noses Juliet will let you wipe her nose then cry, Colette will see the tissue shake her head 'no' over and over and fight you with her hands not to wipe her nose. Juliet will do more of an attention cry, Colette will usually cry more when she is really hurt.
I hope this information is helpful.

The recommendation is: Pulsatilla 30 once a day with Kali Mur 3x three times a day. It might be helpful to put the Pulsatilla in a water bottle and bang it once before giving a teaspoon to your twins. Usually the Kali Mur comes in soft tablets, which you can give them 2 tablets three times a day. Kali Mur is especially indicated if the tongue is coated white, so you might want to check their tongues. This takes about a month to show results. However, if it doesn't work, there are other remedies to try, so write back if this is not successful.

Best wishes

Jennifer,
Well Colette is a PULSATILLA baby I agree on that.
She'll be helped by Pulsatilla 30.
Juliet according to me is a belladona baby she'll be helped by belladona 30.
Its my opinion.
choice is yours you may go ahead with Sanremo line of treatment.
Regards,
Dr. Yogesh
