Major Depression

Hello -

I was wondering if anyone has had good success treating major depression homeopathically? I THINK I understand the condition inside out, and have covered all allergy, toxicity, mineral, vitamin and fungas areas (phew!). It has been revealed via the VEGA diagnostic device that my depression is in fact hormone related; a progesterone issue that is compounded by an issue with my left ovary. I am currently on a homeopathic hormonal remedy, and also a Dr. Reckeweg remedy, R39. As of starting this remedy (30 march 2011) I have regressed in my depressive healing BIG time. 10 days later, and I'm still far from improving! I was hoping for some discussion on the lenghth of time rememdies can take to do their 'thing'. I was told the worse the symptoms get, the more 'stuff' there is to remedy. I hang on to this statement very tightly!

Appreciate the discussion --

Kathryn

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
What 'hormonal' homoeopathic are you on?

You should stop taking the reckweg formula as this is not true homoeopathy and you run a great risk of being harmed by combination remedies given without following the basic guidelines of homoeopathy.

Homoeopathic medicines are ONLY homoeopathic when given according to the law of similars - they must be individually chosen on the basis of YOUR symptoms. You provide the clues, the details, that lead to a successful prescription. An off-the-shelf medication is never homoeopathic except by accident, and even then there is no tailoring of dosage which means SIDE EFFECTS, often terrible ones.

You MUST stop this combination medicine immediately. It is a distortion of homoeopathic treatment and will more likely harm you than help you.

Only a homoeopath should be choosing your medicine, a single one, based on your peculiar expression of depression, as well as on other characteristics in your health. Our medicines are very powerful, and should be used with care.

I couldn't tell you what is in the hormonal remedy. It is a remedy conconted by my homoeopath, however, I think it is stock-standard for those with hormonal imbalances -- the energetic resonance of this remedy combined with my current mental state raised to a level of balance. I don't pretend to understand the VEGA diagnostic tool; as with any tool, it is only as good at the one using it.

As you are sure I need to stop this remedy, can you please recommend a homoeopath in the Melbourne area? I wouldn't know where to start, and I need to get this sorted. It is deep.

Thanks for your reply.

A homoeopath doesn't concoct a remedy - he or she chooses one single medicine based on the whole picture, and prescribes that. Are you saying that this person mixed together a bunch of medicines and then called it 'hormonal' medicine?

If that is true you are in serious trouble with this practitioner.

I understand that many people do not understand homoeopathy, which opens them up to being taken advantage of. It is in your best interest to educate yourself so you can judge a practitioner better.

These sites can be helpful.

Homoeopathic remedies cannot be selected via any tool except the mind and experience of a practitioner who has deep knowledge of the 5000+ medicines and the various uses they have. Anyone using a machine to make the choice, if that is what has happened, is a poor homoeopath, and a lazy one for that matter.

Actually there are classical homoeopaths in Melbourne that would be a better choice for you - I believe one of my ex-students is currently practicing there as well. Most of the practitioners I know actually work in Sydney but I will hunt around for a name for you.

Thanks so much for your information. I shall read the links and await your referral.

I really appreciate having found this forum, and your direct responses. I NEEDED this.

On the side, I am coming to Brisbane mid-May. Although I need to see someone before then, I'd love to see you too, perhaps?

How long will you be in Brisbane?

Indefinately. At least 4 weeks, I would say.
