help for child 11 with reactivity/depression

Hi there,
I'm writing for advice for my 11 year old son. He has been having problems at school being bullied. Unfortunately he is making matters worse for himself because of his reactivity and anger. He just flies off the handle now at these boys because he's fed up. This is his second school - we moved him because of a bullying issue at his last school. He seems to be a target kid because he is so reactive and a bit different.

He has always been a 'little old man' as described by most who meet him - he's serious, monotone, follows rules and wants others to follow them too, he talks easily to adults. He's not really into sports like the other boys in his class and is very small for his age. He wears glasses and loves information - reading (although he has issues still with reading, but he loves knowledge) and watching documentaries. He is also very hands on when it comes to discovering how something works - he wants to take it apart and figure it out.

The past few years have been hard on him emotionally, his dad and I split two years ago and my father died 2 months ago. His dad isn't very involved, and is also extremely reactive and depressive. His dad can become verbally abusive and had custody taken away from him last year for a while because of it - that and he was getting drunk in front of the kids.

His younger sister is a bit of bully herself and can poke and push him to his limit. Now he just freaks out at the slightest insult. He doesn't laugh very much anymore and I'm becoming increasingly worried about him.

Physically he is slight, small frame, thin face, wears glasses (for distance), long arms and legs and fingers. He is a morning person, often waking before everyone in the house. He loves the outdoors, riding his bike and swimming. He has a hard time expressing himself when he is sad - he waits until it is extremely bad and then he blows. He is afraid of disappointing anyone. He is sometimes afraid to try because he hates to be wrong. He has very smelly gas. He bites his nails. He has no allergies.

If you have any suggestions for him I'd greatly appreciate it.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This is the kind of case I see in clinic.

If you like, fill in my intake form and I can see what I can suggest.

GUIDELINES FOR GIVING HOMOEOPATHIC CASE INFORMATION

It is important to describe all your problems in as much detail as you are able. One word answers and short sentences are not particularly helpful. Discuss each problem one at a time, providing (as a minimum level of detail) the following information.

1. What exactly happens?
2. Describe all sensations and pains. Each pain or sensation should be described in such a way that allows us to imagine having the same pain.
3. What causes the problem to get worse after it has started occurring?
4. What creates some relief for the problem?
5. What triggers the problem into occuring?
6. What time of the day or night does the problem occur?
7. When did the problem start? What was happening in your life at that time? Did some specific event or treatment take place just before the problem started?

Move from one problem to the next, doing the same thing. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU GIVE A COMPLETE PICTURE OF YOUR HEALTH BY PROVIDING ALL PROBLEMS YOU HAVE, EVEN IF NOT CONNECTED TO THE MAIN ONE, AND EVEN IF YOU CONSIDER IT OF LESS IMPORTANCE. You should address each problem separately using the above 7 questions as a guide.

As well as this, please describe any traumatic incidents that have taken place in your life. Discuss anything that has had a lasting impact on you mentally, emotionally or physically.

Discuss the way that you manage or deal with your problems, or any problems that occur in your life.

Discuss any patterns you have noticed in your behavior especially concerning your disease.

Discuss any part of your life where you feel stuck or unable to change and grow, especially where this occurred around the beginning of your disease, or as the disease evolved.

Describe your childhood and the kind of environment you grew up in, with reference to your relationships with your family, your school experiences, and any serious childhood diseases.

If your earlier discussions have not mentioned these already, please describe:

1. The specific foods that you crave (not just like) or hate
2. The specific drinks that you crave or hate
3. What your sleep is like
4. How the weather and the temperature affects you
5. What kinds of things in the environment you are particularly sensitive to
6. What your general level of energy is like

Children's Questions:

1. What occured to the mother during pregnancy - new symptoms, illnesses, medical treatments, emotional stresses.

2. What problems occured during the birth?

3. What was happening in the mother's life around the time of conception?

4. What illnesses did both parents have for the 5 years or so preceding conception?

5. Describe the following features of the child

a) Body type and build
b) Skin colour and texture
c) Areas of the body tends to perspire on
d) Odour of sweat, body, stool, flatus, urine
e) Colour of stool, urine, sweat

6. Give any reactions to vaccines or medical drugs.
