Inquiry on potency and remedy combination

Q1. Does same remedy with different potency work for different ailments or for same ailment. Guide me what does mean by potency?

Q2. For one problem can we take remedy in combination of 2 or more remedies? Does combination of remedies work perfectly or is there any side effect of it or a single remedy works better?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
1. Potency is a measure of strength and depth of a homoeopathic medicine. The potency can relate to the intensity of the disease, the parts of the person that are affected, the level to which the disease reaches (physical, emotional, mental etc). Potency selection is very complex, although easier to work through than remedy selection in many cases. It must be indvidualized for each patient just as the remedy choice is.

2. Using 2 remedies at once has dangers. Any remedy can have side effects, so when using more than one, there is no way to tell which remedy might be harming you. This often requires you to stop all treatment and use each medicine separately to determine which one was doing what.

There is also the issue of remedy interactions, which are unpredictable. 2 remedies might counteract each other, enhance each other, create new effects. Again, since it is not clear which remedy is doing this, all treatment has to be stopped.

While it might seem like a shortcut, should something go wrong it actually prolongs your treatment and can create confusion.

Some side effects in homoeopathy can last months or even years.

Our medicines are tested singly. We know what they do this way. We do not know what they do in combination, so you are taking a risk.

Q2. If some one is not able to predict correct remedy potency then what should be the default potency of remedy.
