constantly changing remedies

Hiya
this is a general question asking if it is okay to constantly change remedies for anxiety/panic attacks?
nothing seems to really work, in fact it seems to be getting worse and being unsure about trying new remedies all the time is adding to the anxiety. this is all overseen by a professional and long standing homeopath. can someone please advise?
thank you

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If the remedies are not helping, there are following possibilities...
1. the right remedy or the right potency has not been administered.
2. more time is needed for the remedy to show it`s effect.
3. some lifestyle and dietary changes are needed.

The right remedy does not need to be changed very often. It could be the potency as Kadwa suggests.

Generally I find practitioners change remedies rapidly because they have no confidence in their choice. What kind of homoeopath is he (how does he take a case, what kind of symptoms does he prescribe on, does he share his thoughts with you?)

How quickly are the remedies changed, and how long does the homoeopath give before doing so?

The homeopath is a very respected one but doesn't share his thoughts, no - he almost holds an air of mystery about the whole thing. He does ask a lot of questions though, being very thorough.
The remedies have been altered as often as weekly when they are either showing no signs of helping or things have even worsened whilst taking them. sometimes a new remedy has been stopped after a couple of days if the panic attacks get particularly bad.
thank you for your interest and help.

How are the medicines applied (how do you take your doses)? What kind of potencies are you taking (centesimal, 50 millesimal?)

they are in pill form, many different potency levels. I have had powders (camphora im) in the past also.

The homoeopath you are seeing is not using the safest form of dosage. It is possible that the correct remedy might have already been given and abandoned, because he is using what we call dry doses (pillules, powders, pellets) instead of liquid doses (dissolved into water). Dry doses are far more aggravating than wet doses. Hahnemann advised *against* using dry doses. It is not possible to alter the dose sufficiently for repeating the remedy, when they are not in liquid form. This means that repeating the remedy becomes *less* effective and produce much more aggravation.

You must have only had the centesmial potency scale if he is only giving pills. 50 Millesimal (LM potencies) is made in a very different way to the Centesimals.

He sounds like he has not studied the later editions of our Organon of Medicine where Hahnemann gives instructions on how to correctly apply medicines to patients to get better results and less aggravations.

Dr Luc Du Schepper has worked hard to bring to light Hahnemann's advanced methods of dosing. You can read about it here.

ahhhhh - that would maybe explain why I had such a major and quite scary aggravation yesterday when I was switched back to a remedy I had tried in february which - from my reports back at that time - was probably the best acting remedy I have tried (though not completely effective).
I am really unsure what to do now. I have taken nothing homeopathic today as I am fed up with all the changes and aggravations. I will have to consider whether to change homeopaths or give up on it as a 'no-helper' for me. thank you for your help and advice so far.

Well I guess you can move to another homoeopath. That might help. You could also try to educate him - encourage him to read Dr. Du Schepper's work on dosage. If he isn't open to learning new things (or learning from his obvious mistakes) then he is not the kind of healer you want looking after you.

OR...you could try taking my advice on how to take the remedy he has given you. As I said, he may have chosen the right remedy but lost the ability to manage its use for you.

haha thanks! That comes for 20 years of prescribing and observing - you get a feel for it.

I still make mistakes of course, but far fewer than before using the advanced methods.

thanks, I am a bit lost now. I thought you said he had given the remedy in the wrong form - how would I take a pill any differently?
thank you for your patience.
