This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
GUIDELINES FOR GIVING HOMOEOPATHIC CASE INFORMATION

It is important to describe all your problems in as much detail as you are able. One word answers and short sentences are not particularly helpful. Discuss each problem one at a time, providing (as a minimum level of detail) the following information.

1. What exactly happens?
2. Describe all sensations and pains. Each pain or sensation should be described in such a way that allows us to imagine having the same pain.
3. What causes the problem to get worse after it has started occurring?
4. What creates some relief for the problem?
5. What triggers the problem into occuring?
6. What time of the day or night does the problem occur?
7. When did the problem start? What was happening in your life at that time? Did some specific event or treatment take place just before the problem started?

Move from one problem to the next, doing the same thing. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU GIVE A COMPLETE PICTURE OF YOUR HEALTH BY PROVIDING ALL PROBLEMS YOU HAVE, EVEN IF NOT CONNECTED TO THE MAIN ONE, AND EVEN IF YOU CONSIDER IT OF LESS IMPORTANCE. You should address each problem separately using the above 7 questions as a guide.

As well as this, please describe any traumatic incidents that have taken place in your life. Discuss anything that has had a lasting impact on you mentally, emotionally or physically.

Discuss the way that you manage or deal with your problems, or any problems that occur in your life.

Discuss any patterns you have noticed in your behavior especially concerning your disease.

Discuss any part of your life where you feel stuck or unable to change and grow, especially where this occurred around the beginning of your disease, or as the disease evolved.

Describe your childhood and the kind of environment you grew up in, with reference to your relationships with your family, your school experiences, and any serious childhood diseases.

If your earlier discussions have not mentioned these already, please describe:

1. The specific foods that you crave (not just like) or hate
2. The specific drinks that you crave or hate
3. What your sleep is like
4. How the weather and the temperature affects you
5. What kinds of things in the environment you are particularly sensitive to
6. What your general level of energy is like
7. What your level of sexual energy or desire is like
8. Describe your menstrual cycle

Ok this gives me some good information, but I have some further questions. As you can see case-taking takes alot of time.

1. Describe the constant thinking at night. What is it about, what are your thoughts like, why do they keep you awake.

2. Describe heaviness.

3. Describe pain in chest exactly (what kind of pain).

4. Describe the things that make the above symptoms worse or better or affect them in any way.

5. Describe more on 'I have to be perfect'

6. What would it be like if everyone noticed your hands shaking? Describe the experience of being watched.

7. Describe more on Failure.

8. What kind of work do you do, what are your duties?

9. What kind of excitement aggravates you?

10. What was the experience of moving to where there were not many friends?

11. Describe security.

12. Describe Ambitious.

13. Describe Restrictive environment.

14. Describe your unhappy marriage.

I have never had a heart attack. Could you explain exactly what that feels like?

So perfect means pleasant fun-loving jovial?

What is 'stress'?

Ok so describe more on feeling embarassed.

Please define what KIND of excitement causes symptoms to occur.

So not having friends means you are bored, is that right? If you have no friends you feel bored? Describe being bored then.

What does it mean to have financial security? What does it feel like to not have it (or to imagine you don't)?

Describe more about your wife not being good-looking enough. Tell me what this is about for you?

You are doing well so far. There are many options for remedies, I am trying to narrow down the choice.

Ok just so you understand what I am looking for when I ask for clarification. This is not unusual for people unfamiliar with homoeopathic case-taking so don't feel bad about it.

Usually, I am not asking for emotional responses. For example, when I ask 'Describe more about your wife not being good looking enough' I want to understand your attitude to good looking wives, good looks generally, what it means to have someone who is good looking. Telling me how you feel doesn't help me to understand what it is about.

Perhaps the question should have been 'Tell me about good looking people'.

What do you feel would happen to make you lose your job?

what would happen if you had to go back to your country of origin?

What will people see if they look at you? What do they see?

Did you have this issue about financial security before you came to live where you are?

I am very close to making a choice of remedy for you now.

I have 2 ideas for a remedy, but the one that appears to come up most strongly is Calc-fluor. Can you get hold of 200c? When you have it I will tell you how to take it.

i just called local store they only have it in 200ck, made by boiron in pellets, will that work. If yes, also suggest me how to take it.

Could I also ask you what is the second remedy.

nikkysh last decade
Yes that is suitable, get hold of it as soon as possible.

The other remedy I would consider would be Calc-cil.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
did you mean calc-sil or calc-cil for the second remedy.

nikkysh last decade
I don't know of any remedy called Calc-cil - it is Calcarea silicata.

Everything may change after Calc-f. There is no way to predict what your second remedy might be. Even if you get hold of it, your reaction to the Calc-f may change my ideas.

i got the remedy today, please advice how to take it.

Do you have access to a small bottle with a lid, and do you have a dropper you can use?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
That was no problem, I bought a small glass bottle with a dropper from a health store.
There is something I need to discuss with you and I hope it does not affect our therapy as I am very excited about it. I had used lycopodium 12x and Kali phosphorus 6x occasionally in last few weeks. I understand it was not a very good idea to self prescribe and hope no harm is done by this. The last dose was about 8 days ago. I stopped it to follow on your advised medication.

Ok dissolve 2 pillules into a mixture of alcohol and water (5:1) in the bottle. Any spirit will do, I usually use vodka or brandy.

Each time you need to take a dose, you should follow these instructions.

Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of the hand twice. Place 1 drop in a full cup of water (250ml) and stir thoroughly. Take 1 teaspoon out and place it in the mouth.

Do this once only and report in no more than 5 days the effect.

Good luck.

just one concern, do you think i need to wait since i recently took lycopodium 12x (about 8-9 days ago)
[message edited by nikkysh on Mon, 09 May 2011 22:28:49 BST]

nikkysh last decade
No I think you have waited long enough. The essential problem was unaffected anyway. Just go ahead and take the one dose.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
I took a dose exactly as advised 5 days ago. Haven't felt any difference so far. I had some meeting last few days and I continued to feel very apprehensive , anxious and sleep has also been very bad.
please advise further.

nikkysh last decade
Ok hit the bottle 4 times, repeat the dose. Wait 3 days, if no reaction again, hit the bottle 6 times and repeat.
