Ligament tear in right knee

I got my injury 20 years ago while playing. I had been ignoring my injury for a long time until my injury reoccurred and I couldn't walk. I used to be very active in dancing and other physical sports. I have given my knee full rest for last one year, but my muscles have become weak and even little bit of strain on my knee makes the pain come back. I have realized that my body takes a long time to recover from an injury.

I'm in my late 20s. I'm a sensitive and outgoing person. I like to express myself and share my feelings, but often times I don't. I avoid confrontations, but when I'm cornered I get very angry. I have constant pain in my back. I'm prone to falling sick so I have to take care of my diet.

Thank you!

Hi Marya,

You can start with Natrum sulph 200, 3-4 pills thrice a day for a week. Then take Ruta graveolens 200, 3-4 pills thrice a day for 2-3 weeks. update with ur feedback. Ideally speaking, nat sulph is a very good remedy for old injury pains resurfacing after many years and ruta helps in strengthening the ligaments since you mentioned you were active in sports, dance.. Also do some energy exercises.Update on this.

Hello Dr. Munawar,

I ordered Natrum Sulp 200c, but it hasn't come yet. However, the local store has it in 1M potency. So should I buy Natrum Sulp 1M or wait for Natrum Sulp 200c?

thank you!

Sure, u can go ahead and pick it up. No problem if 200 is not available

Hello Dr.Munawar Shaikh,

I have taken both the medicines as you prescribed for 3 1/2 weeks.
After taking Natrum sulph 200c/1m for 1 week, I felt some relief in my pain, but not very significant. I took Ruta graveolens 200c for 2 1/2 weeks, but didn't notice any improvement. There's tenderness in my right knee and calf.

Pls. advice me on the next step. Thank you!

Hi Marya. Pls continue with Natrum sulph200c and Ruta.graveolens 200c for about a month. Meanwhile u can also locally use gels like orthomov from sbl and ruborgel from Fourrts.Dunno if its available there. Do not climb, jump or do any such activity which may not allow the sprain to heal, i hope u r doing it already. Tc.Keep me posted on this

Hello Dr.,

I have been giving complete rest to my knee and taking the medicines religiously, but still my knee is showing very little improvement.
I would like to mention that I took Rhus tox 30c awhile ago and saw immediate recovery in my knee. I took the medicine for 1 week. I thought my knee made full recovery couple of wks after taking the medicine, so I over-exerted it and my pain and swelling came back. But my swelling and pain did go down immediately after taking Rhus tox whereas Natrum Sulph and Rhus G are not showing the same affect.

Pls. advice me on what to do. Thank you so much!

Was there any reason you didn't go back to using the Rhus-tox?

Probably the main reason to continue or reuse a remedy, is because it has helped.

I wasn't sure if I took the right potency or whether it was even the right medicine. That is why I'm seeking your advice. I'm not sure if Rhus tox can permanently heal my ligament or if it's going to give me temporary relief.

Yes it can permanently heal it. Rhus-tox is famous for healing those kinds of injuries.

My advice would be to go back to Rhus since it worked initially, and if there is a problem with its efectiveness then move to other remedies.

Do you have a spare bottle and dropper to make up your dose? For repeating doses, you should not use pillules. The pillules should be dissolved into water, into a small bottle, where the bottle can be hit against the palm of the hand. This is called succussion and it is very important for long-term use of a medicine.

Put into the bottle a mixture of alcohol and water, 1 part to 5 parts roughly. The alcohol can be any spirit (I use vodka or brandy). Dissolve two pillules or two drops (depending on the form your Rhus-tox is in) into this bottle.

Then for each dose, hit the bottle firmly twice against the palm of the hand. Place 1 drop into 1/4 cup of water and stir thoroughly. Take 1 teaspoon into the mouth from this cup, and throw the rest away.

You can repeat this each day, until either your symptoms are mostly better, or you feel the symptoms worsen (aggravation).

This method of dosing is the one that Dr. Hahnemann devised in his final versions of our Organon of Medicine.

See how that changes things if at all.

Hello Dr.Kempson,

I can arrange for all these things. Should I stick to Rhus-tox 30c or choose higher potency? And how often should I take it?

Thanks a lot!

Stay with 30c for the moment since that worked.

Also make sure you are only taking one medicine at a time. If you go back to try Rhus-tox, only take that remedy.

Generally speaking, if you have taken 3 doses and there has been no improvement or aggravation (not better or worse) then it is appropriate to stop as there is a problem either with the choice of remedy, or the potency or even the dosage. This would require reassessment.

Thank you Dr.Kempson!

How many times should I take Rhus tox in a day?

marya last decade
I would do one dose a day, for 3 days (so 3 doses) to see if it going to help again.

Hello Dr.Kempton,

It took me a while to find things from the stores, but I have finally taken the medicine as prescribed. My knee is definitely feeling better. I just completed my third day. Should I continue to take the medicine? If yes, then for how long?

I really appreciate your help! Thank you!

regards.

Hello,

Can someone tell me how long I should keep taking the medicine. Or if I should change the dosage. I'm definitely noticing improvement in my knee, but it's slow.

Thank you!
