newbie question on "wet dose"

I am little confused on 'wet dose'. I want to use Arnica 6c in wet dose. My questions are:

a) Do I take a new bottle of 500ml for every dose. Take one dose from that bottle and discard then discard the bottle.

OR b) Make the preparation once and then preserve the bottle and take one dose out this bottle with only shaking.

OR c) With every dose add 3 Tablets and shake the bottle and then take ONE dose. In this case iw ould be adding 3 tablets every time.

Please help me understand. Thanks.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
When taking repeated doses of a medicine, you would use the same bottle each time (the one with the pillules dissolved in it). This is your 'stock' bottle (the one all your doses are made from).

You do not shake the bottle, but hit it firmly against the palm of the hand. This is called succussion, and it slightly increases the strength of each dose to make it effective enough to continue healing you.

In my experience 2 hits are enough, but they can be increased if the medicine becomes less effective over time (usually by a factor of 1 or 2 hits). When the medicine starts working again, you do not continue increasing the number of hits but keep it at that number until once again you strike a problem.

You can go to this site to learn a bit about the 'wet dose':

To Malik

I note that you wish to use Arnica 6c in the Wet dose and you have asked for instructions on making and using it.

You may like to know that I was the first Homeopath to use and recommend the use of the Wet dose on the ABC Forum which I did shortly after I was first introduced to the efficacy of the Wet dose by Dr Luc de Schepper with whom I was closely associated in 2005 to help the survivors of our Tsunami on December 26 2004.

It was I that first coined the words 'Wet Dose' in consultation with Luc as his reference to 'Watery Dose' seemed to be too long. Wet Dose was coined by me to differentiate it from the standard Dry Pellets aka Globules or Pillules which are in use even today throughout the world.

You are invited to type 'Wet dose' into Google to read the many thousands of hits that are highlighted together with many cases that I have advised on in many Homeopathic Forums that I visit. It will be true to state that the term 'Wet dose' has found international acceptance in the Homeopathic world as many homeopaths have discovered that it is by far more effective than the standard pellets.

I would also like mention here that it is not essential that you follow the instructions of Hahnemann who recommended that the remedy bottle be thumped on an old Bible. During his time the standard plastic bottle made of PET ( Polyethylene Terephthalate) was of course unknown or he may have otherwise have instructed clients to use my method of shaking the bottle hard to succuss it as this is equally effective. It is very likely if you follow his instructions literally with a PET bottle it will most likely burst at the bottom and leak the contents on the old Bible !

I am glad to note that other classical homeopaths have also shown an interest in using the Wet dose therapy I recommend instead of the standard dry pellets used by them in the past.

For the record I shall copy my default instructions to make the Wet dose below:

Order the remedy in the Liquid pack in Alcohol, also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user.

I would like to add that it is best to use the Alcohol pack of any remedy instead of the dry pellets to make the Wet dose as this is far more effective.

It occurred to me that you wished to use Arnica 6 for some ailment that you did not specify.

Would you like to share the reason for using it with us?

Thanks Mr. David for your answer. I understand that I keep the 1st bottle. However, should I add 3 pelletes every time before I success the bottle OR just 'success' the bottle if needed.

Mr Joe, Thanks for your detailed answer. I want to use your prescription for type 2 diabetes and insomnia.

You do not add pillules each time. However the bottle must contain a mixture of alcohol and water (1 part to 5 parts) in order to preserve the medicine.

Hahnemann's instructions were to hit the bottle against an elastic surface, such as a book or the palm of the hand. He never stated that it had to be the bible.

Shaking is not enough, although it is better than stirring. Sucussing (hitting) the bottle will give the remedy the most power, which is why you only need 2 of them.

To David

Thank you for the correction about the Bible. I mentioned it as I remembered reading in the Organon H's instructions to thump the remedy bottle on an old book 'like a Bible'. In any case a hard book which is usually left on a table is not exactly an elastic surface. The hand is, but I believe that shaking the bottle away from the user and back again is by far more effective to succuss the remedy.

My standard instructions are ' to shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.' I used to instruct that it should be shaken hard to produce bubbles but this lead to much misunderstanding as the patient interpreted that the water should bubble like a bottle of pop, which of course it does not.

I noticed that you have referred to a 20% mix of Alcohol to water:
'the bottle must contain a mixture of alcohol and water (1 part to 5 parts) in order to preserve the medicine. '

This is an absolute fallacy as Alcohol is not necessary at all to 'preserve' the remedy water which in any case will be used up in under 3 months at 2 capfuls or teaspoonfuls per day.

I have read H's instructions about the Alcohol and often wondered what his reason was for this instruction which I presume was calculated to preserve the remedy if the patient uses just a few drops which will then last a few more months or even a year.

You must understand that Alcohol is extremely expensive in our part of the world and it just would not do to take a regular sip of even a teaspoonful of 20% alcohol merely because H had so instructed.

The Wet dose is as effective without the additional alcohol to complete the cocktail.
