swelling with bit of pain in neck
my wife is facing the followinf problem:1. she got a swelling on the right of front-neck (just below the sub-maxillary gland and above the right collar-bone) for last 2 weeks.
2. Its hard, feels little pain when pressed.
3. The skin color is normal.
4. the place having little high temparature.
5. no porblem in eating, talking or swallow.
6. The swelling has increased a bit in last 1 week.
7. Some mouth ulcer has developed on her tongue in recent days.
7. She applied Cloramfenac cream - doesn't help.
8. The GP took x-ray and blood test (T3/TSH, Na/K etc) no abnormality apart from a sign of some inflammation.
9. We live in London - a bit moist and cold weather.
10. We are indian, and she never had any serious illness before.
11. she is used to homeopathy medicine responds promptly.
12. She is very nervous and suspecting it as cancer.
Looking for some suggestion immediately fromthe forum.

could you describe how she is in herself (temperature, appetite, thirst etc. etc.) and what other changes she may have experienced since this illness?

2. appettite & thirst are normal. She is feeling regular acidity, gas and bowel discomfort.
3. She was having comstipation like symptom a week ago - but doesn't look like linked with it. That time the feaces were hard and of deep brown color.

pls describe more about the gas, acidity and bowels so that I can understand these. Is the constipation relieved now.

constipation is relieved now -
the bowel problem is as follows:
1. wind forms in between the meals and fills up
2. She feels hunger and burning sensation in stomach while in empty stomach or sometimes even after 1-2 hours of the meal. The upper abdomen fills up with gas and occationally gives a sensation of reflux.
3. I gave Carbo Veg 6x at the bed time - which helps marginally. So used alleopath (Renitidine) twice a day for 2-3 days
She is full vegeteration and doesn't take any spicy food. Also, she does Gym regularly.

OK - i think I am beginning to get a symptom picture but need to know more. How old is your wife? How long has she had the indigestion problems? How big was this swelling (neck) originally and how big is it now - is it hot at anytime or any pain in the swelling?
You did not say whether she has had throat or ear pain with the swelling?

She doesn't have any indigestion problem but having burning sensation in stomach with forming of wind.
The swelling is hard and has not grown in size much since we noticed it.
it is hot a little and some tolerable pain.
no pain in throat or ear.

you said earlier that there is no pain when you press on it, so I presume the tolerable pain is there at other times? could you describe the pain - shooting?throbbing? sore on turning head? is there any stiffness in the neck?
is there any swelling elsewhere on neck (back or front) or in the armpits?

as I cannot see this swelling you will need to read up on the remedies I suggest to compare them (on this forum or elsewhere) - look at calc carb, baryta carb, conium, phosphorous, nat mur, rhus-tox and arg-nit. If the anxiety is uppermost then also read about ars. alb.
these remedies I know can be quite different from each other - but in a situation like this where I cannot see the symptoms it is tricky to get a remedy. Pls read about these and if you think one fits come back and let me know which one you think is it to try. If none of them fit then come back and we'll look further.

when does the pain come? is it frequent? is it in the swollen area and does it go upwards, downwards, inwards?

The shooting pain comes outwords.
It seems to me that r-tox and CALC FLUOR togather would be good. also using ars alb. Does Arsenicum Album has any side effect? what would be the dose for it?

Ars Alb 12c or 30c (6c would also be ok - but the 30c is prob. the best as this would address the anxiety as well as the physical swelling, which 12c and 6c may not do so effectively).
Initially you could take 1 dose x 3 daily (one a.m., one around noon, one evening) for 3 days and then reassess whether remedy suits and what dosage to take - come back and let us know and we can help with this. In any case reduce the dosage if you see an improvement.
If this does not help then try other remedy like rhus tox or CALC FLUOR - ONLY TAKE ONE REMEDY AT A TIME as it will be too difficult to see which is working!
I practice in the UK but do not give my whereabouts away on the forum as I do not use the forum to advertise...:)

my wife is taking rhus tox 200 3ice a day & calc once only in morning.. today her weeeling is much less & better ..pain has reduced & her anxity has reduced drastically.tanks a lot for your support.emotionally she got huge help by talking to you.usually she loves & tries homeopathy 1st & till now all her problems had been reduced by it. so its got a trust .in her mind she knows it can cure all deseases.

after having few days of betterment now my wife is saying all r same nohing has improved except that the pain had reduced ..now
she is saying she can feel there is a burning sensation in a particula spot of the "ball"

Hi - i was away.
Pls can you tell me the progress over the last week with all symptoms/changes and also how frequently you took remedies and which ones exactly so far? I know you have written the remedies and symptoms before but this is just to clarify.
Did the lump stay the same size, pain (as well as the burning) etc.

she took Calc Fluor 200 once in morning and R.Tox 200 thrice a day for 5 days. No pain is there. No temparature, but the swelling is same and quite hard now. then from today (2nd June) morning started hepar sulph 30 4 times a day instead of R. Tox. Also, as the GP recommended, went for the FNAC test today (report expected by 7th June). when the doctor took the sample by niddle, pur pus came out of the swelling.
Could you suggest me what to do now. I'm quite puzzled now - and she is very tensed.

At this stage it really would be better to see a homeopath local to you so that you can get thorough treatment - it is too hard to imagine exactly what is going on and I would prefer not to risk a wrong suggestion.
Pls explain what FNAC test is?
It is fine to continue with the hepar sulph if it is helping and it is better to stick with 1 main remedy only at the moment.
To help with the anxiety it would be good to take Bach Flower remedies - the rescue remedy + crab apple remedy.
