I am taking it from two weeks now. I took 4 piles 3 times a day.

you say it has not been very effective - has it helped at all? if so, then how much?

If it has not helped much at all then you should change remedy. If you want help with this you will need to give full symptoms of your urticaria and stage of pregnancy etc.

Thanks for the message! It helped little bit like i used to have it all over earlier but now i have on hands and legs sometimes with cloth rubbing it comes on stomach or sides but in the night it gets sevior, specially after midnight or if i eat hot food then also it get aggravated. I am in second trimester and 15th week. I hope baby is not effected with that.

Earlier it ised to come like a bump but now it comes like a red patch and swelling with itching and when it get sevior then it comes like a bumpy patch.

it seems like it helped more than I thought as it is now reduced. Is it more severe at night than it was or is this a change that it is worse at night? It may be that you can continue with rhus tox but pls answer these questions so that we can decide.
there will be no harm to the baby I just needed to know how pregnant you were for symptoms.

Yes, it seems more severe at night than it was. I used to get up some time but now i get up evey day and more on legs and hands. Sometime in the morning i feel little something in my throught also. Daytime sometime i dont have anything but suddenly in the evening it starts and sometime in day time also it will be their. I dont know its the food or something inside what happened. It didnt happened with me in my first pregnancy. This is the first time its happening.

Could you tell me what should i eat or what foods should i control?

The desease wont harm or the medicine wont harm the baby. I hope both dont harm the baby!

have a read about the remedies urtica urens and sepia on the abc site and see if you think the symptoms of these remedies match your symptoms.

alternatively -
if rhus tox has helped then you can continue with it for another week but take less of it (just one dose daily) - continue for one week only and then come back to report your symptoms.

the remedies will not harm the baby and you have had the rash checked out by your doctor, so relax.......

Urtica Urens looks good but should i change it?

If i continue Rhus Tox with one does should i take in night or day time?

njkeva last decade
Should i continue with Rhus tox 30c or should i take 30x and you said one does so at night or day time..

Thanks

rhus tox 30c is fine. take the one dose before bed or in the afternoon, to see if it helps improve the itching at night.

just saw your earlier post about Urtica - if you think this is a better fit for your symptoms then change to this remedy.
If you stick with the rhus tox for now then give it a couple of days - then change to urtica if rhus tox is not helping.

Thanks for your help Erika.. I will let you know further..

Sorry Erika, forgot to ask about the potency of Urtica Urens.. Please let me know which potency should i start with if i want to change..

njkeva last decade
you could start with 6c, 12c or 30c for the Urtica (or any potency between 6c and 30c such as 18c etc...).

Njkeva--

Have you tried over-the-counter antihistamines? Like Benadryl?

I understand your wanting to avoid western medicine, but urticaria is just hives. If you don't know what's causing the allergic reaction, antihistamines are your best bet at fast and lasting relief.

Most antihistamines are OK to take whilst pregnant, but like ALL medicines (including hoeopathic ones) you should ask your doctor or obstetrician first.

Good luck. I'm sure antihistamines will do the trick. ;-)

Hi Erika,

Rhus tox was not working further so i have taken urtica urens 30c which seems to be very effective in sence of relief but its not going away. Should i continue taking the medicine since i am pregnant or it will take some time to go away. I am taking 3pilesthree times a day.

Thanks

urticaria can happen during pregnancy, so it may stay a while - if this is the case then you can continue taking urtica - as long as it is definitely helping then take 1 pillule and only take another if the healing effect of the previous pillule has worn off. Do not take for a set number of times a day, just take when needed as I have described - in this way you may need 3 pillules a day or you may only need one pillule a day, or even only one pillule every few days. If you take in this way you will not take too many - if you take 3 times each day you will quite probably end up taking too many and this will make the problem worse rather than better.
Also you only need take one pillule/tablet each time not 3, this will save you money and will be just as effective.
If the problem goes away altogether stop taking the remedy.

I am not a trained homeopath but I am an interested user and feel that I can put your mind at rest.

As far as understand there is no danger in your child taking the pillules. At the worst she might prove (develop) some of the symptoms that Urtica heals, but it should be very gentle and go fairly quickly.

If you wanted to be sure you could antidote the remedy with some coffee (probably not with a young child!), some menthol/camphor cough sweets or decongestion ointment or simply cleaning her teeth with a medicated, mint toothpaste (probably the easiest).

However, I am confident that your child will not be affected.
