chronic eczema
Hi i really need some advice, im 28 yr old woman had bouts of eczema all my life but nothing like the past yr, i think it may have been brought on by stress as around the same time i lost my job, however i found employment pretty quick but eczema has got worse . Through the winter months it was very hot uncontrollable itching, in feb i took some sulphur, the itching didnt subside so i stopped this treatment. Iv been allergy tested an im allergic to wheat, oranges, soya an tomatoes. Most recently my eczela has changed its all over my arms an legs chest neck an going on to my torso, its unbearable very dry flaky am almost dirty an leathery, o now think mybe the sulphur worked on my hot itchy eczema, so now i meed another remedy, i would appreciate any help im at thex end of mu tether!luckyj on 2011-07-15
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The remedy I prescribe which has helped many is Arnica 6c in the Wet dose taken thrice daily and also applied directly on your lesions wherever they may be located.
The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:
Order the remedy in a 5ml Alcohol pack aka Liquid Dilution in a bottle with a dropper arrangement.
If this is not available the Dry dose in pellets may be use but this is not as effective as the remedy in the original Ethanol pack
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake it hard to produce bubbles. This is homeopathic succussion and must be done every time before a capful of the bottle which is the dose is taken as directed.
The contents of the bottle will last you for about 3 months and you do not have to make a new dose every day.
If as I hope your Eczema responds to my therapy aka 'Joepathy' you should discover some improvement in 3 days which you will report to me on this thread.
Please post your response to the Arnica therapy weekly thereafter.

Thanks jo, i have searched the internet for remedies and in the uk find supply is limited especially any in liquid form, but i know where i can get pellets from so il try it tomorrow, ive been looking at other remedies and thought graphite might be the one suggested, can i ask why u suggest arcina? A short answer to your question is that I have found that Graphites is not my remedy of choice as are other remedies that are listed in the classical repertories.
I use what has been labelled 'Joepathy' which has so far worked in a manner far more effectively than many classically identified remedies.

For a remedy to be prescribed homoeopathically, a lot more information would be needed. If you choose to take the homoeopathic option, I am happy to take your case. The homoeopathic understanding of eczema is that is it not a 'skin' disease, but a disease that springs from your whole health being unbalanced. Therefore only be looking at the whole case can you get genuine cure (disappearance of symptoms for good). The advanatage to doing it this way, is that many health problems will improve at the same time - sleep, appetite, energy, mood etc.
I am not sure what your level of knowledge is around homoeopathy, but there are some great sites you can visit to learn more about choosing a practitioner, and about the kind of information that is required from you to make accurate and successful prescriptions.

Joe i bought some arnica pilkues as these are all i could get at short notice, should i still put these in water? David thanks for ur reply, ive researched my skin/immune condition alot including homeopathy i truly believe this is the only way forward to cure my condition, i dont have enough money to see a homepath thats why im researching myself and very greatful for any advice on remedies at all, im willing to try anthing a this point!

Hi i just wanted to give an update day by day, really for my own diary really of how this is going. Today woke up before taking any remedy, extremelt dry, tight skin couldnt walk properly as the backs of my legs were so sore. Throughout the day my skin has been very flaky amd itchy as per norm. after 3rd dose i am feeling no itch as of yet-altho tonight i expclect i will, im feeling relaxed and i dabbed some water all over my body and particularly above my lip as this area has been dry no matter how bad the rest of my body has been. I can see an improvement on this area already,jus hoping the none itchy feeling is not a placebo and my skin above my lio stays smooth until tomorrow as it normally scabs over during the night. Will update again tomorrow.

Glad to note that David has advised you to follow my therapy for a few days and if it does not help you he can take over with his classical remedies.
I note that you are using the dry pellets of Arnica but you have not confirmed that the pellets are Arnica 6c. This is important. You must get the Arnica in the Liquid DIlution in Alcohol to treat your chronic Eczema. The pellets are OK for the moment but the other is far more effective.
I note that you live in the UK and here are some addresses of suppliers from whom you can mail order the Arnica 6c in the Liquid Dilution in Alcohol.

It is very important that you get the Arnica as prescribed ASAP.
Take a dose every 4 hours or up to 4 doses per day.
Apply the remedy water freely on your lesions with your finger tips as often as is possible but do not keep them soaked by leaving a wet cloth soaked in the remedy water over them. This was tried by a patient with negative results.
I have often had responses similar to yours from patients one of whom was a 40 year old mother who had suffered from her 13th year from chronic Eczema. When she consulted me she was one gory mess with the skin on her legs all oozing with plasma. She wore a cotton legging inside her trouser to absorb the ooze and quite frankly I was horrified as I had never encountered a case of Eczema as bad as her's.
I gave her a bottle of Arnica 6c in the Wet dose with my standard instructions and informed her that if she is lucky, she can expect some relief in under 3 days.
She called me the day after and informed me that the constant intense itching she had suffered from for almost a lifetime had abated.
On day 2 she informed me that her lesions had stopped oozing.
On day 3 the improvement continued and her skin tone was improving.
In a week she was completely cured and when she met me her skin was completely dry and not itching anymore. The pigmentation of her skin had not returned and her skin was a pink colour which did not improve even a year later perhaps due to the long time that it was under treatment from steroids and other drugs that had been prescribed to no avail. A clinic had also used Laser therapy by exposing her lesions to direct laser light but this had proved painful and had made her condition even worse.
It is my hope and prayer that my 'Joepathy' will also help you in a manner similar to the patient whose case I quoted above.

Thanks for the websites jo, ive ordered the liquid forn i should expect it in a few days, im using arnica 6c in pellet form at the moment iv put it in 500ml of spring water shook it an they have dissolved. I still had itching last night and now mt skin is very dry so iv put a plajn moisuriser on so i can move my limbs, i didn mention earlier before i started this remedy, that i have bruising all over my legs whuch is unexplained, could this be linked to my skin condition?

I jus wanted to check the one i bought is ok, its from naturallygreen.co.uk it didnt have a potency but says 100ml 1:3 alcohol volume, 25% . The only other drops i could find said they were for pets, think the potency was 30c, should i have bought these instead?

Yes of course, this is why ive checked, the products are arnica but the potrncy isnt as u suggested this is why i wanted to check, il do some more searching for thr drops, i may have to order from the US

In my experience with some patients who presented Chronic Eczema like you, their skin would stop itching first and then would stop oozing. I do not remember reports of their skin 'peeling'.

Hi jo, sorry i probably described it wrong, my legs are now smooth the skin was never really oozing at any point jus extremly dry, so much so i couldnt bend my knee two days ago, the skin seems to be shedding a bit, u still have some itch but instead of scrathing i ca rub an area of my skin and the dead skin flakes off leaving it smooth underneath. Ive been very careful not to soak the skin, just to dab it with minimal water, my legs and chest are now smooth, the bends of my arms still very dry but parts of my arm are smooth. I hope ot continues iv seen amazing results!

Jo thanks for ur help so far im feeling really positive about it, however last night i couldnt sleeo at all, normally o dont sleep well due to itching but not as much itching last night but i couldnt sleep and now dont feel tired. So this morning i felt my skin i feeling better so i had a shower as normal and as my skin still looks ashy i put my moisorizer on - this has no steroid jus a standard moisurizer but ive found this is.the only one that would really moiserize my skin, then i got dressed and started the housework, almkst immediately i started to itch on my chest, i tried to ignore it but it took over my body, i ran round the housr ooening windows to get cool, cold water wast cold enough but five mins later afer splashing myself with water and taking off my clothes i began to calm down, iv taken the remedy this morning after this occured. Do u think i am now sensitive to my moistuizer? And can u help with the lack of sleep?

I note that you have paid the price for experiment with your Moisturizer which has reacted violently with your body and has hopefully taught you a lesson on the fine knife edge that you are balancing on today in relation to your Eczema which is only in the first few days of progressing towards a cure.
Do not ever experiment in a similar manner in the future till you are quite certain that you are cured. You are also advised to experiment with soaps to identify one that causes you the least irritation on your skin as all soaps tend to do so.
This may take a few months into the future.

Hi jo, just to update you, legs are alot better, chest and arms are extremly dry, last night i did scratch alot no bleeding or real damage bit skim was very very flaky im not using cream for the first time ever amd considering this im not too uncomfortable apart from my arms, also not sure if tgis is relevant but woke up with a nose bleed?

I definately saw a difference the first 2 days, yesterday not so much but saying that i am covered in dry skin so im not expecting miracles on day 3, i jus thought i would let u know of the stages incase there is something wrong, like the sleepless night two nights ago and the nose bleed, ive not suffered from nose bleeds in years also i find im a little bit more on edge like my heart rate maybe faster?

If this has not been done it could explain the reason why your progress may have slowed down. Using the moisturizer would have also exacerbated the problem. You must understand that we are walking on the proverbial knife edge and the balance must be maintained to help the progress of your eventual cure.
The nose bleed is nothing serious as Arnica is the remedy to STOP a nose bleed.
You can use some crushed ice on your face to help stop bleeding the next time if it occurs again.

Hi, yes i am still shakimg the remedy before i take each spoonful, i am taking 1 spoonful 4 times daily. I am still using the water with pellets as not found suitable liquid solution, the one i have found comes from new zealand so may be a while until i get it. Can i ask, im now wondering of my ecxema is a symptom of something more serious, wilk the arnica still be effective? Thanks for ur time.

I jus wanted to update u again my legs seemed to have improved greatly from three days ago, three days ago they were dry cracked, couldnt walk properly and the skin was dark - althk i am mixed race the skin was noticably darker, in some places the skin had tiny wet droplets , now although extremly dry, the skin is returning to its noraml colour! Very pleased with this i jus hope the dryness goes soon as thiscis whar makes me itch! I think this is progress!
