This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
GUIDELINES FOR GIVING HOMOEOPATHIC CASE INFORMATION

It is important to describe all his problems in as much detail as you are able. One word answers and short sentences are not particularly helpful. Discuss each problem one at a time, providing (as a minimum level of detail) the following information. Note that some complaints may not lend themselves easily to answer each of these questions.

1. What exactly happens?
2. Describe all sensations and pains. Each pain or sensation should be described in such a way that allows us to imagine having the same pain. With someone so young his ability to do this may be limited
3. What causes the problem to get worse after it has started occurring?
4. What creates some relief for the problem?
5. What triggers the problem into occuring?
6. What time of the day or night does the problem occur?
7. When did the problem start? What was happening in his life at that time? Did some specific event or treatment take place just before the problem started?

Move from one problem to the next, doing the same thing. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU GIVE A COMPLETE PICTURE OF HER HEALTH BY PROVIDING ALL PROBLEMS YOU HAVE, EVEN IF NOT CONNECTED TO THE MAIN ONE, AND EVEN IF YOU CONSIDER IT OF LESS IMPORTANCE. You should address each problem separately using the above 7 questions as a guide.

As well as this, please describe any traumatic incidents that have taken place in his life. Discuss anything that has had a lasting impact on him mentally, emotionally or physically.

Discuss the way that he manages or deals with his problems, or any problems that occur in his life.

Discuss any patterns you have noticed in his behavior especially concerning her disease.

Discuss any part of her life where he seems stuck or unable to change and grow, especially where this occurred around the beginning of his disease, or as the disease evolved.

Describe his childhood and the kind of environment he is growing up in, with reference to his relationships with his family, his school experiences, and any serious childhood diseases.

If her earlier discussions have not mentioned these already, please describe:

1. The specific foods that he craves (not just like) or hates
2. The specific drinks that he craves or hates
3. What his sleep is like
4. How the weather and the temperature affects him
5. What kinds of things in the environment he is particularly sensitive to
6. What is his general level of energy is like

9. Also give these details

a) Body type and build
b) Skin colour and texture
c) Areas of the body tends to perspire on
d) Odour of sweat, body, stool, flatus, urine
e) Colour of stool, urine, sweat

10. Give any reactions to vaccines or medical drugs.

11. Describe any fears or anxieties.

12. Describe any dreams he has reported.

Dear pawan077

you can start 'Bio-chem' combination as follows

1. Calc Phos 6x 2. Silica 12 x
3. Natrum Mur 6x 4. Ferrum Phox 6 x

Take 2 pallets of each medicine and give him 3 times a day. For this you need not wait for any diagnosis. After you give complete description and list of symptoms a Homoeopathic medicine can be decided.
Even after that you can continue 'bio-chem' combination

Ok without any way to define the problem walking or talking, I will not be able to presribe on it. For a symptom to be useful to a homoeopath, there must be things about it that create an individual picture of it. It may be, that as a pathological symptom, it simply is too common to the disease to be helpful to lead to a remedy.

What do his legs look like when he tries to walk, or when you try to make him walk? What do they look like when he is not trying to walk? Can he crawl and does he? Does he try to climb?

Are you saying that he shows no fear, no anxiety at all?

What is his personality, his character like? What kind of child is he?

When he gets a cold, which happens once a month and is quite frequent for a child, what are the symptoms he gets? What is he like when he is sick? How does he act?

What kind of change in the weather makes him sick?

What was the pregnancy like? Did you get any symptoms during pregnancy? Was it a stressful time for you? Did anything happen to you or in your life that was unusual during this time?

So he asks for sweet foods if he asks for anything? What specifically does he ask for or seem to want to eat most?

Otherwise he eats everything given to him without complaint?

Is he thirsty or not? Does he drink anything you give him without complaint?

Is he restless or quiet, does he want to move around or sit quietly, does he sleep alot or seem to be awake alot? Does he like to play, is he noisy - these are all representations of his energy.

What position does he sleep in?

Having no fear is extremely unusual in a child. I have almost never seen that. So nothing bothers him at all? I didn't mean when he walks, I meant any fear, about anything at all, at anytime.

So he doesn't crawl either? How does he get around if he cannot walk? Is he carried?

So what is his personality like? What kind of person is he. At 3 years old he must have some kind of personality, even if he is not speaking very much. How would you describe him?

So he gets a cold when the weather changes in any way - cold to hot, hot to cold, dry to rainy? Not just some specific change.

What kind of sweets does he like?

How much water does he drink when he has it? How does he drink it?

Is it possible to email me photos or videos of him. My email address is in my profile.

Could you ask your wife what she remembers about the vomiting -

- what did it feel like
- what would make her vomit or feel nauseous
- what would make her feel better, what would make her feel less nauseous
- anything else about the vomiting she can remember.

It is our observation as homoeopaths, that during pregnancy, those symptoms that the mother develops that go away after the child is born, relates to the state of the child (and can help us find a remedy for that child).

Does he have any brothers or sisters? How does he get on with them? How does he get on with other children or with other adults?

You said he sweats on his hands? Only on his hands?

You are doing well and I appreciate all the effort you are putting in to your answers. I know this is a bit tedious but I want to be very confident of my suggestions to you.

There is one question I think we have a misunderstanding over. This is the one regarding his personality. What kind of person is he? How is he different from his sister, how is he different from other children, different from you or his mother? There must be something that differentiates him from other people?

I notice that one thing he doesn't like is his sister sitting in his mother's lap. Is there anything else he doesn't like or upsets him? What does he fight about with his sister?

What is his language like?

===> Reply ===> From the personality perspective.. We can not see difference between us and him. he generally react for all the things like yesterday I asked him to put his 'kids bike' on right place so he listen that but may be becouse of fear that he will fall he did not put that bike on right place... He gone there and comeback. Whenever he thirsty he ask for water, whenever I start my bike to go outside / market, he start reacting / crying and insist that he also want to go outside.. When I come from office in evening he smile and looks very happy and try that I will lift him in my hand etc etc .. so except his speach and Balancin problem / walking we can not see any difference as he is small/3+ and can not speak so till now we can only objerve like this only...... and WHY are we in fear/tension due to his WALKING/Balancing Problem becouse he falls in 30 mins of walking morethn 30 times and you know if he is at home there are so manythings at home which can hurt him anywhere...

Currently his is 3+ and can not send him in school becouse school people will not take care of his problems. like he can not speak properly and can not make his balance and walk properly... I do not know when we can send him in school... as I can not see any improvement in last 6 months we are contnously on phisiotherpy also since last 3-4 months but there are progress....

===> Reply ====>>
I will not say that he does not like his sister becouse if she come from School he smiles and speak to his mama KHUSHU KHUSHU (Name of my Daughter - Khushi).. SO he likes his sister very much sometime OR its generally human tendency as per my understanding that we do not want to give our things to others...

Others thn We never objereved any thing which upset him, there are other 2 kids (My Brothers's kids) also in my family.. They play with him and he seems very happy when he played with them..

What is his language like? -

WE SPEAKS OUR INDIAN LANGUAGE ONLY WHICH IS HINDI BUT WE TRY TO REPEAT/SPEAK MANY WORDS in Front of him in English so that he can speak those words easily...

Dear Pawan

You can take a Bach Flower Remedy for your worry and nervousness about sickness of your child.

1. Mimulus
2. Red Chest Nut

Take 4 drops of each in teaspoonful water for 3 times a day. You will get relief from tension

I have suggested you Bio-chem remedies for your child. Why don't you start them. They are independent and can be administered with or without Homoeopathic medicines.

Dear Pawan

The bio-chem remedy I have suggested for your child. They are acting on
Physical development, impaired nutrition, assimilation and increase of RBC.
These medicines are not based on symptoms but the paucity of various salts in our body
These remedies are very safe

For you I have suggested
1. Mimulus+ (for fear, anxiety and nervousness)
2. Red Chest nut (for your worry due to attachment with your child)
These medicines are based on mental status of the person

Thanks

The remedy I would like you to get is Lathyrus sativus 30c and 200c.

This is how I will ask you to make and administer the dose.

INSTRUCTONS FOR SPLIT DOSING

Firstly, you need to create a separate dosing bottle. Get an empty bottle with a dropper, 15-30mls in size, and fill it with a mixture of water and alcohol (5 parts to 1 part). Dissolve 2-4 granules or 2-4 drops of the medicine you bought from the pharmacy into this mixture. Your doses will be made from this bottle.

Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of your hand, or another elastic surface like a book. It should be a firm hit not a tap. 2 hits is enough to begin with, and should not be increased unless it is clear that it is needed. The water in this bottle will 'remember' the number of times you have hit it, so that subsequent doses will be stronger (necessary to overcoming the resistance of your disease).

Place 1 drop into an amount of water - I may start with anything from 1/4-1 full cup (62ml-250ml) depending on the sensitivity of the patient. Stir thoroughly and take 1 teaspoon into the mouth. Throw the rest of the cup away.

This is one dose. Repeat doses would be started from the 2 hits on the bottle.

Each step of this process can be adjusted to reduced aggravation or to increase the effect of the medicine. In order to be able to do this, it is important to measure each step (count the hits, the drops, measure the water etc).

Hi Doctor (brisbanehomoeopath), Also you may have received his pictures from these pictures what are your objervation?

pawan077 last decade
I actually worked from the symptom

'Can only walk on toes' or 'Walks only on toes'

which narrowed my choice of remedies to

Crotatuls-horridus
Cuprum-met
Lathyrus sativus
Manganum met
Nitric acid
Secale

I chose to use this rubric because there are no real mentals or emotionals in the case, and very few generals. So I chose to look at the pathology itself. The fear of falling is perfectly natural, seeing as how he does actually fall alot. As you insisted, he seems normal otherwise.

I went through each of those six medicines to see which one best suited the complaint.

Lathyrus has the following symptoms:

Reeling staggering tottering gait aggravated during walking.
Symptoms affect the body below the waist primarily.
Spasms, tonic
Contractions of the muscles and tendons of the lower limbs
Lost or diminshed power of motion in lower limbs
Reflexes increased, extremities
Stiffness of the lower limbs
Walking, heels do not touch the ground

Lathyrus produces a perfect picture of certain spinal affections, and has been known for over a century. Paraplegia, dragging gait, turning in of the toes, stiffness of the legs with unsteady gait, semi-flexion of the joints. It is a characteristic of this remedy, that the upper limbs remain free of trouble. There is loss of power in the lower extremities from the waist down with a tremulous tottering gait. There is great exaggeration of the reflexes, stiffness and lameness, locomotor ataxia, rigidity of the abductors. The legs become excessivly rigid and spasmodic. It is a remedy indicated for disorders like mulitple sclerosis.

In various cases cured by this remedy that I examined, the patients typically could not walk unaided, but needed to be supported by other people. Walking is difficult, they are unsteady on their legs, they need to watch where they are walking or they fall over as if the floor is uneven.

This plant has an interesting signature that relates to these symptoms - it is the pea plant, and it needs support to stand, something to twine itself around.

Thanks Doctor for your all details..

What is my understanding about the details of doses of medicine....

I have to take Lathyrus sativus 30c and 200c. from Market - BUT

Shake this bottle till the time solution is not tranparent..

Put 1 drop of this solution in 1 Full cup of water and take this whole cup OR only one teaspoon ????

How many times this one drop in one cup of water need to be taken in a DAY?????

Also how long time we have to continue this medcines... DO You Think There are any sideeffect of this medicine..?

Also Have you seen this kind of symptoms in your pratice life in any children and cured by this medicine.

30c and 200c are different strengths of the same remedy. The homoeopathic medicine shops will know what they mean. You will start with 30c and only move on to 200c after assessment of the results.

Any alcoholic spirit can be used - medicinal alcohol or drinking alcohol like vodka or brandy.

Follow the instructions I have given exactly as I have given them.

When dissolving the pillules, do not shake the bottle. Let it sit until they are dissolved.

After 1 drop has been placed in the water, you will only take 1 teaspoon out into your son's mouth. The rest of the cup is thrown away. We wil probably start with 1/4 cup (62mls) and see how he reacts.

For 30c, you will be giving him one dose (1 teaspoon) each day for 3 days, then we will assess his reactions. I cannot predict how long he may need this medicine - we will need to measure his response.

There are only side effects from the wrong medicine or from too much medicine being given. By diluting the dose carefully and assessing quickly, we avoid those kinds of troubles.

However, any homoeopathic remedy can produce an aggravation, a mild worsening of the symptoms, as part of its curative process. An aggravation is usually a good sign. You can also see a return of old symptoms briefly - this is an excellent sign and shows the remedy is going in quite deeply to cure.

I have used Lathyrus before although only a few times. It is a very useful remedy for the reasons I mentioned previously. I have not however had a patient with the diagnosis your son has - homoeopathy is not well known in Australia and we do not get as many serious pathologies in our clinics as other countries and in fact many conditions we are forbidden by law to treat. I do however treat many children, some of whom have had very serious conditions.
