Effexor withdrawals

I have been off Effexor since July 5th. The brain zaps, severe moods with out of control anger bursts are resolving and I feel much better. I still get occasional zaps especially with fatigue but in the past two weeks I've noticed that I get extreme chills in the early to late evening each day. Has anyone experienced this? It feels like I've been out in the cold and can't warm up. I also experienced an episode of increased BP about 30 days after being on Effexor and the doc thought answer was to double my BP med. She Never even questioned or suspected the Effexor as the cause, within one week of doing off I had to decrease the amount to half as I was literally unable to function on the higher dose after stopping Effexor. I think doctors are prescribing this drug haphazardly without telling about the side effects and the severe withdrawals. I also was prescribed this med for hot flashes and anxiety not depression. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Effexor is a *horrible* drug. I have seen lots of my patients desperately trying to either survive it, or trying to get off it. Homoeopathic treatment has usually been sucessful in clearing up the remainder of the side effects though.
