Salivary Gland Stone
My son is 17. He has a stone in the left salivary gland. He has had this for two years. He used to get swelling and pain whilst eating, but has not had an attack like this for one year now. He can still feel the stone if he presses on his neck. It is 8mm as shown by an ultrasound. He has had Silica 30 twice a day for one month which did not help and then after some time, he was on Silica 6c every morning for one month. This did not help either. He has had two ultrasounds and it shows that the stone is still there and the size is still the same. It is not giving him any trouble at the moment, but it does concern him that he may get a blockage at any time which is very painful and he cannot eat for days until it unblocks.[message edited by Carmel on Mon, 12 Sep 2011 11:53:41 BST]
