4 year old with swelling

Hi,

My 4 year old has 3 toes that have been swollen since she was 1 years old. She has a swollen stomach and food allergies and is low in B12.

I haven't found anyone who's been able to help me.

Do you have any ideas?

I really, really appreciate it.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Have you tried homoeopathy yet?

I purchased Thuja200 and gave her one today. Two weeks ago I gave her silica and Calc. carb. and she got pimples on her butt so I stopped. Other than that, no.

Ah ok. The medicines need to be prescribed according to the indications for them, which is a fairly complex process.

1. Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape etc.

2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.

3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position, temperature, food etc.

4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better for cold bathing or at night in bed.

5. Go through each symptom or problem she has, doing the same thing, even if the problem does not seem connected to any others.

6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?

7. What is her character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does she have? What makes her irritable? Flesh out her personality.

8. What foods does she crave or hate? What drinks does she crave or hate? Is she sensitive to anything she eats or drinks?

9. How does the weather or season affect her?

10. How have all her milestones gone? Does she have any issue with speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc

11. How is she with socializing with others?

12. What is her bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange colours or stool shapes?

13. Where does she sweat? Does it have a smell or does it stain a particular colour?

14. History of illnesses in her life?

15. Has she reacted to any vaccines or medical drugs?

16. Problems with sleep? Position she sleeps in? Nightmares or any dreams she talks about?

17. How is she with animals?

18. How is she with adults or strangers?

19. What is the family history of illness and disease?

20. What was the pregnancy like? Any odd symptoms or feelings that disappeared once she was born?

Thanks David. I certainly don't know what the heck I'm doing, for sure. I appreciate your help already.

1. It's hard to pinpoint the main problem because there are so many...food allergies, swollen toes and swollen abdomen and front teeth erosion to near gumline. Which one should I choose?

Well go through each one - they should all reflect a basic theme or issue, so just give me all the information you can and I will try to analyze it.

1. Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape etc.

Swollen Stomach

2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.

Irritable

3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position, temperature, food etc.

Eating

4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better for cold bathing or at night in bed.

In the morning her stomach isn't very bloated

5. Go through each symptom or problem she has, doing the same thing, even if the problem does not seem connected to any others.

Her food allergies cause her to be hypersensitive and brings on hives and pimples. It gets better when she avoids dairy, wheat, and fermented foods. If she eats sugar she's very irritable.

Her 3 swollen toes have never gone down. They stay the same all the time. She has no pain ever from it.

Her mottled/decaying teeth started the moment they came in. She's starting to get cavities too.

She starting getting moles on her face when she was a year old. Now she has 5 on her face and is getting them on her arms and stomach.

Her little toe has a broken toenail that I think is fungus. All her toe nails have been dry but are getting better now that I've given her B12.

6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?

She received 16 vaccinations by the time she was 4 months old. After that she developed skin rashes that lasted 1 1/2 years and her food allergies began (I think).

7. What is her character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does she have? What makes her irritable? Flesh out her personality.

She is bossy and irritable and demands her own way. She doesn't like to share and wants to do things herself.

8. What foods does she crave or hate? What drinks does she crave or hate? Is she sensitive to anything she eats or drinks?

She craves fruit. She likes most foods and eats a lot. She doesn't eat wheat, dairy, eggs, fermented foods, or fruit (other than applesauce mixed with other food) otherwise she'll have hives, pimples, diarhea or crankiness.

9. How does the weather or season affect her?

She is always hot. She doesn't like to be in the sun.

10. How have all her milestones gone? Does she have any issue with speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc

Her milestones have all been fine. She has great balance. She's left handed and is starting to write letters but they are all backwards. I don't know if thats bad or not.

11. How is she with socializing with others?

She's not very social. Last night we were at a story time and all the other children were participating but she did not. A girl's hair touched her and she didn't like that.

12. What is her bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange colours or stool shapes?

She use to have diarhea several times a day. Her food isn't digesting. I have to pulverize her food and make it into pancakes or bread for her bowels to be normal. Otherwise most of the fiber would be floating on top.

13. Where does she sweat? Does it have a smell or does it stain a particular colour?

Her arms and neck can get clammy cool sometimes. When she sweats its mostly on her neck. No odors or color.

14. History of illnesses in her life?

When she was about 8 months old she had a high fever for a couple days. She use to have congestion often with her food allergies but not anymore. Not many illnesses other than her chronic health problems, food allergies, swollen toes and stomach.

15. Has she reacted to any vaccines or medical drugs?

Both times she was vaccinated she received tylenol beforehand and slept several hours immediately afterwards. Both times she threw up projectile vomit for several days. She was more cranky and slept a lot afterwards. She was less energetic overall.

16. Problems with sleep? Position she sleeps in? Nightmares or any dreams she talks about?

It take her a while to fall asleep. She didn't nap much as a baby. But she sleeps soundly all night long. She does move all over the bed throughout the night though. Sleeps on her back a lot. She once had a dream about fire but it came from a video she saw the day before with a jungle fire in it. Otherwise she doesn't talk about dreaming.

17. How is she with animals?

Wants to hug them or touch them.

18. How is she with adults or strangers?

Not very friendly. Never waved bye, bye to anyone or wanted to talk to them.

19. What is the family history of illness and disease?

Husband: Environmental allergies

Mother: depression, anxiety, thallesemia minor ( chronic anemia)

20. What was the pregnancy like?

I was extremely tired. Could hardly walk up stairs. Had to move to a single story house. Napped 3 hours every day.

Thanks David. Let me know if you need anything else.

16 vaccinations by 4 months! I have no idea how babies survive this. No wonder we have so much chronic disease in children now. The vaccines have definitely contributed to her problems, no doubt.

I am sorry this took so long so many posts appeared above yours this was close to the bottom of the second page.

Can you describe more on the following, what it is like, what you observe, how she behaves, what she does, what makes it better, what makes it worse:

Her irritability

Her bossiness

What does she do when she is with other children?

What is she like with being touched generally?

What fruit does she specifically like?

Is it any adult she is not friendly to, or just strangers?

Does she have any fears or anxieties at all?

Can you describe more on the tiredness in pregnancy - try to give me your mood, what the exhaustion felt like, what made it better, what made it worse. What were you like during the pregnancy?

16 vaccinations by 4 months and many, many more were to come if I hadn't stopped. It is disgusting. I feel bad for all the children and parents who don't realize what the risks are.

OK, onto my daughter.

Can you describe more on the following, what it is like, what you observe, how she behaves, what she does, what makes it better, what makes it worse:

Her irritability: When she doesn't get what she wants she is very verbal and demands that she gets what she wants. She'll cry if she doesn't get it. In the morning if Daddy has already gone to work she'll fuss and whine and cry a little. Many times what she wants is reasonable so she gets it BUT if it isn't reasonable then she'll sometimes push or pinch or pout. Both her father and I are very gentle and empower her to be expressive. She's the boss. If I'm too slow to get her breakfast she use to yell for it but we have set limits and that doesn't happen anymore. She really is delightful even though she can be irritated and bossy.

Her bossiness: If I start to tell a story she quickly takes over and creates the story with the same characters and settings. She'll tell you who you are to play with and what you are to do with it. I don't mind it but I don't thing she'll be too popular with other kids.

What does she do when she is with other children? She doesn't play with them. She resents when they touch a toy she has. She doesn't like to share. If she does share she soon wants the toy back and will fuss and be unhappy about it until she gets the toy back.

What is she like with being touched generally? If she is grouchy then she doesn't want to be touched but most of the time she is cuddly and likes her back scratched every night before bed. She likes to cuddle to sleep. I use to play with her hair all the time as a baby. She doesn't like it anymore though.

What fruit does she specifically like? I've limited her fruits since she has candida fungus so her options are limited. I'll go ask her now......she said apples and bananas.

Is it any adult she is not friendly to, or just strangers? Just strangers. Although, tonight she waved and said hi to some random person for the first time at the grocery store. I was shocked. The other day she told someone who I was talking to (a stranger) her name. So I think she will outgrow being shy.

Does she have any fears or anxieties at all? She hates having her hair washed because she's afraid it'll go in her eyes. We have this big routine to make sure she doesn't get ANY water in her face. She doesn't like to be alone very often. Not sure she's afraid of being alone or just loves company.

Can you describe more on the tiredness in pregnancy - try to give me your mood, what the exhaustion felt like, what made it better, what made it worse. What were you like during the pregnancy? The tiredness was pretty extreme and didn't really lighten up. I was uncomfortable physically with the weight gain. I loved to read and sleep a lot. I did exercise nearly every day and I only felt good while exercising. Then I would take a nice, long nap. That felt the best. I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs though. I had to take a couple steps, wait then take a couple more. The theme of my life has been sadness. During my pregnancy I took a 8 week course on grieving. My mom died while I was a teenager and being pregnant made me miss my mom.

Ok my first choice would be Lycopodium. Can you get hold of 200c?

These are the instructions for administering the dose.

INSTRUCTONS FOR SPLIT DOSING

Firstly, you need to create a separate dosing bottle. Get a bottle with a dropper, 15-30mls in size, and fill it with a mixture of water and alcohol (5 parts to 1 part). Dissolve 2-4 granules or 2-4 drops of the medicine you bought from the pharmacy into this mixture. Your doses will be made from this bottle.

Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of your hand, or another elastic surface like a book. It should be a firm hit not a tap. 2 hits is enough to begin with, and should not be increased unless it is clear that it is needed. The water in this bottle will 'remember' the number of times you have hit it, so that subsequent doses will be stronger (necessary to overcoming the resistance of your disease).

Place 1 drop into an amount of water - I may start with anything from 1/4-1 full cup (62ml-250ml) depending on the sensitivity of the patient. Stir thoroughly and take 1 teaspoon into the mouth. Throw the rest of the cup away.

This is one dose. Repeat doses would be started from the 2 hits on the bottle.

Each step of this process can be adjusted to reduced aggravation or to increase the effect of the medicine. In order to be able to do this, it is important to measure each step (count the hits, the drops, measure the water etc).

I would suggest 2 pillules/drops into the dosing bottle, 2 hits, 1 drop into 1/2 cup of water, stir and 1 teaspoon into her mouth. Do one dose only to begin with.

Hi Brisbane,
I purchased the Lypodium but now need to buy alcohol. Is there a certain type? Is it necessary for a little girl? Alcohol isn't good for the liver and I wouldn't want to hurt her liver.
Thanks,
Julia

She will be getting the tiniest amount, it is incapable of harming her (1 part to 5, then 1 drop out of that, put in a 1/2 cup of water and a teaspoon taken out - you can see the amount of alcohol she will get is miniscule).

Without alchol the remedy will not last very long and you will have to keep starting over, which makes long term use of the medicine difficult.

Brandy is what I typically use because children like the smell or taste (if they can taste it at all). Vodka is fine, and spirit alcohol really, even medicinal alcohol.

I have finally given the remedy of lycopodium with the procedure you recommended. It has been 3 days and she seems the same. Should I wait longer?
