This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
No homoeopathic medicine is more efficient as mother tincture. All potencies will be more efficient than the base tincture they are made from - that is one of the reasons our medicines are potentized.

What is the reason for asking the question?

I am student of Homeopathy and i have come to know for rapid relief some madecine like Berbarus use in Q for kidney pain and Alfa Alfa use in Q and Phytolaca use in Q for reducing weight.I am confused about this because at one end Classical homeopathy referred to potentized form on other end in some cases we have to use in Q form. This was the reason of my question. One more question is here that some well known German companies used low potientcy combination and in some cases they are very effective so what is the philosophy behind it.Thanks

Ok now I understand what you are asking.

This is a question about what the different potencies are useful for.

There is a basic quality of potentization that you need to understand that will help here. The more you potentize a medicine, the more peculiar and characteristic the medicine becomes.

So this means that at the lower ranges, including the mother tincture, you do not need to individualize the case so much. You can use common symptoms like bloating, headache, aching and get some effect. However, there is also a great risk of merely palliating, or even suppressing the disease this way. So you can prescribe 'cough' or 'inury' or 'burn' remedies this way, without worrying about taking a proper case, because at the low potencies the action of the remedy is very broad.

However, this is only going to be effective for those cases where there are no peculiars, no characteristic symptoms. This is more likely in first aid situations, or in the end stage of advanced pathological cases (where the pathology itself overwhelms the invidiuality of the patient). However most cases in between these two extremes will display peculiar symptoms.

Where those peculiars are found in the case, will help determine how high up in potency you need to go to cure it. As you move up from pathological, to physical, to general, to emotional, and to mental, the potency generally needs to be increased to get long-lasting improvement (or hopefully cure).

Because most chronic diseases actually show a lot of characteristic symptoms (modalities, concomitants, triggers etc) the lower potencies will not cure them.

Cure though, is not about 'rapid relief'. Rapid relief usally means palliation, since most chronic diseases take time to cure, and start with a period of aggravation with slow improvement. Palliation should not be a goal in homoeopathic treatment unless the case is incurable.
