Constipation and straining-23m old

Dear Doctor,

My 23 months old son is having severe constipation for the past 3 weeks. He usually passes stool on alternate days. But three weeks back he started passing green liquidish stool thrice a day in small amounts.Stomach was completely bloated and he was in pain.
Homeopath prescribed combination medicine-carbo veg, lycopdium( and 3 more meds all mixed in one bottole of pills)his stomach pain went and it did not look bloated anymore.he gained some appetite.Dr said to continue giving the combination alternating with chammomila(also with other combination meds)and bio tabs 24.However his constipation did not seem to get any better.the paed advised lactulose for a month daily with which we are not very happy about.he also said to give enema whenever he cannot pass stool. He said it was the lack of water. But no matter how much water, soup or papaya he has he is constipated. He has to strain himself a lot and cries out.He touches his bottom probably because the stool is not falling out.Teh stool is like small stones as a big as 2 or 3 marbles. Some times its followed by highly paste like brown stool. He is taking the chammomila nd carbo veg alternately so his appetite is just okay(its not too good and no matter what he has he is very lean and looks very frail). The child is otherwise very active. He takes cows milk once at night but I have stopped that for 2days also to check but no change. He is breast fed.
This homeopath does not use a stethoscope or check the child's stomach.I really don't know how his medicines have worked for us.The homeopath we used to see earlier used to inquire many things and do a good check up.She is not in town anymore. Thishomeopath also suggests taking his chammomila combination daily till 5yrs along with bio 24.(i must say the child has good appetite with it).
The child does not pass gas or burp.
He also has what I understand is post nasal drip(no mucous comes out but I can hear this rattling inside and his nose is congested.I can feel the sound when I can keep my hand on his back).the dr again a has given a combination med kali carb and others with kali mur.

I am so confused..
Please help and advise .

Many thanks and all the help is sincerely appreciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him three doses of Nux Vomica 200 C at a gap of 12 hours and don't give him any other homeopathic remedy for one week.
After that if there is any problem see a homeopath who gives remedy after detailed case taking.

Thank you Dr.Kadwa,

I shall get this and give him and let you know how he is doing.Shall I also stop lactulose and?He is having wet cough and slight fever. Is it okay to give allopathy time being as we know of no other homeopaths.we are not keen on allopathy....
So i give him only Nux?
Many thanks Dr.
I just came across this article.
http://hpathy.com/complex-remedies/pros-cons-of-homeopathic-...
Please let me know what you feel about this.Probably this is the reason this homeopath does not need to check and take a case history and we feel that is totally wrong.

Thank you Doctor.

Please give him Nux Vomica and see how that goes.
You may also give allopathy on need.

It is not so that a person who does case on the basis of detailed case taking doesn't fail. But it is better to fail for the time being instead of emerging successful by chance.

If you wish to use a different approach to your son's constipation which has helped many in the past you can give him 3 tablets of Nat Phos 6x immediately after a meal twice daily and watch for results the day after.

Thank you Dr.Joe for your reply.Should I give nux and nat phos?If I give Nat phos alone how long should I give it?Just 2 doses? He points to his bottom very often and shows discomfort.Probably he feels the stool is remaining there. He always says he wants to bathe.I do not know if it is because he wants to play with his toys in the water or if there is anything else to it.
We have been going to this homeopath for the past 10 months.Though we used to be puzzled with his treatment approach we continued because the medicines always helped.
I have been reading through and majority of the articles is against combination remedies and that its basically for palliative cure. This dr has also asked my 2yr old to take bioplex 24(he calls it bioplex). He says it has calcium and mag etc in it.Please advise what we should do regarding that.
Are we to stop all the medications given by this dr?

Many thanks.

Nisha,

You have mixed the remedies and now you are mixing suggestions. This is a forum and not a website that gives online consultation.

It is better to forget what I said as you are encouraging multiple persons for giving suggestions.

This is my last post to you.

Best Wishes.

No Sir I haven't mixed any remedies or suggestions.I am aware that this a forum.I just acknowledged Dr.Joe's reply.I as a layman is getting another reply for the same query and feel confused.I have not mentioned that I will be giving Nat phos or any thing.
I haven't got Nux Vomica yet and therefore I have not given any remedy yet.Once we get it we will give Nux 200c as you adviced.
No offence meant to any one including the homeopath we have been seeing here.
I Thank you for all your timely advises and help is deeply appreciated.

Thank you
