Face Pain

Suffering from very bad neural pain on the left side of the face. Tegrital 200mg or 400mg tabs are taken as allopathic pain killer. Now I am taking homeopathic treatment. Can I take Tegrital tabs alongwith homeopathic treatment without affecting the efficacy of homeopathic treatment?

Dear Gurvendra,

Allopathic medicine is for killing your pain, what about underline problem of your face, will it cure that ?

Conventional (Allopathic) medicines and homeopathic medicines can safely be taken together, with advantage, without any harm.

Nikkie.

Dear Nikkie

No. Allopathic pain killer (Tegrital) will not cure the underline disease.

Thank you so much for your reply and infomation.

Dear Nikkie

Pl tell me one thing - when I take the correct medicine, there is initial aggravation. If this aggravation is much, can I even then take the pain killer to curb this aggravation without adversely affecting the efficacy of the homeopathic treatment? In some standard books, it is written that in this condition the homeopath should do nothing but to wait with folded hands for this agg to pass-over.

Awaiting your considered reply,

Gurvendra

What for should I take Spigelia 30 and Mag.Phos 30? I certainly did not ask for any medicines. Further, in Hahnemann's Homeopathy, only one medicine is allowed during any one stretch of treatment.

Generally homeopaths ask patients not to take the allopathic medicines. In case the patient gets cured he gives all credit to allopathy and denies any credit to homeopathy.

Mag Phos 6x is considered as a bio-chemic pain killer. That may be the reason why Dr Mahfooz (who is known for writing excellent clinical prescriptions) suggested you Mag Phos.

Best Wishes.

Dear Gurvendra,

Well ! As per my experience goes, i can say , It is not true that Homeopathy would lead to an initial aggravation of your health problem. The aggravation which you (patient) experiences during the treatment period is usually coincidental with the progress of the disease where in it worsens in its natural course. This proves and confirms that the homeopathic remedies are always (usually) harmless, but the MYTHS associated with them are not. Aggravation does not happens in all cases and does not happens always, if the chosen remedy matches the patients symptoms. But if there is unnecessary (more) REPEAT, then what is required it often increases the patients complaints. But the positive side is it will subside on its own as soon as the medicine is stopped. Some time (say for example your case) say if in future you stop taking pain killer medicine (Tegrital 200mg or 400mg tabs are taken as allopathic pain killer)then you get the original disease symptoms and consider that the disease has aggraveted :-).

Regards,
Nikkie.

Dear Nikkie

Actually mine is a chronic disease. On taking the homeopathic medicine I get aggravation. After some days, this initial aggravation subsides. Then there is a calm (almost symptom-less)period. Thereafter residual disease symptoms. During the initial aggravation, if the pain becomes unbearable, I take allopathic pain killer. My question is: what will be best for me? Should I resort to this pain killer or should I bear the pain. I mean: what will be BEST for the efficacy of my homeopathic treatment.

Dear Gurvendra,

The prescribed Dose should take care of this scenario where the pain arising from the aggrevation is unbearable, and avoiding the patient to be lean on allopathy.

I dont know much about your chronic disease ! I dont know what medicine you are prescribed for your problem. Did you brought this scenario to the notice of your doctor. What was his reply ?

Regards,
Nikkie.

Dear Nikkie

My disease is Prosopalgia, but that should not matter. The answer of my inquiry should be the same in case of any other disease also.

Thank you, however, for giving me your in-feed and with regards.

Hi Murthy

I happened to have gone through some of your posts here. Generally they are very innovative. 'A Simple and Effective Method to Antidote Homeopathic Aggravation' is superb.

Can you please enlighten me with respect to my inquiry of this post?

One more question - why should homeopathic medicinal solution which is made in WATER should be stored in a cool and DRY(!) place? I suppose it can be stored in a refrigerator. Am I correct?

Waiting for your kind response

Dear Nikkie

Thanks. One more question please: how many days, weeks or months will be the life of this medicine solution when stored properly in fridge?

Waiting for your reply please,

Dear Gurvendra,

You can keep Homeopathy medicine in refrigeration-at room temperatures, they don’t carry expiry period. To store them indefinitely, they need to be protected from extremes of the temperature, strong odors like of camphor, direct sunlight, strong electromagnetic zones etc.
Mother tinctures and the dilutions if kept away from direct sunlight will not expire. Some time we prepare globules by adding drops of medicine; these get decomposed if kept for longer duration and results in expiry. In homoeopathy, mother tinctures certainly have expiry dates. But these expiry dates are vary from mother tinctures to mother tinctures based on the type of ingredient and method of preparation. It is a common observation that fresh mother tinctures gave better and prompt results as compared to the old mother tinctures. The reason is the same that is with the passage of time these mother tinctures will lose the strength. The expiry dates are vary from mother tincture to mother tincture.
So, theoretically there is no expiry date for homeopathic remedies. Precautions need however to be taken for proper storage. If you were having a number of remedies and if you stay in very hot climate, it is a good idea to store all of them separately in a small refrigerator which is kept away from the kitchen smells. Dilutions especially need cool storage; otherwise you lose the medicine by evaporation! I would think twice before storing medicines in a refrigerator which is used also for storing leftovers of meals and other food items. All the smell of the foods/spices would definitely make the medicines ineffective.

Regards,
Nikkie.

Dear Nikkie,

Thanks a lot for the response and information. Actually, I had a different angle when I made the query. It used to be always advised earlier to make medicine solution in double distilled water. In fact, I purchased distillation apparatus also for this purpose. And that solution used to become stale in 1 to 3 months. So I would think ordinary mineral water (which is available in sealed bottles from any road side shop) cannot remain even drinkable after a sew weeks, once the seal of the water bottle has been broken. So how can the life of medicine solution which is made in this water be more that a few weeks. The question is not of the life of the homeopathic medicine, it is the question of the life of the water in which it is made. I need your considered answer please.

Waiting for your reply and with regards,

Gurvendra

I was surfing a few minutes ago and found the following information.

From website:

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_long_does_it_take_before_water...

How long does it take before water becomes stale?
Unopened (sealed) bottles should be good for at least 2 years; opened, the water will begin to grow bacteria in less than a month and one should consider discarding after 10-14 days.

Homoeopathic medicines made in water have a variable life-span. I do not believe I have ever seen a study done on this, so the answer I give will only be anecdotal.

I have seen medicines I mix up for patients last over 6 months. This is quite common. However past this date the power of the remedy to create any effect seems to fade slowly. Some patients have still been able to get a result from a medicine mixed for them 12 months previously, and at about 18 months I don't think I have ever seen the medicine still work. Often the water has become contaminated at this point anyway, with algae or bacteria cultures.

After mineral water has been taken out from a sealed bottle, nobody drinks it after a week or so. So it is written out on the net also. My worry is this: how can a drop of some homeopathic remedy made in , say, 200ml of this mineral water be fine for use after a week or so!

However, thanks to you Mr Brisbanehomeopath for your input.

Can anybody else care to kindly help me out?
