Multiple Sclerosis

- diagnosed in 2005
- foot drop (right foot drags when walking)
- balance problems
- walking problems (walk with a limp on the right side and stiffness in legs)
- urgency to urinate
- heat sensation started this year in the form of hot flashes
- tingling sensation in left fore finger and thumb
- slow movement of left foot
- cannot spread/extend left toes apart fully
- cannot curl left toes under
- handwriting is horrible
- cannot jump up

The symptoms above started in 2009 with the exception of the hot flashes. I was on the MS treatment called Beta Seron of which I stopped using in January of 2009.

I use to see a homeopathic practioner but that was before I was diagnosed with MS.

I also have high blood pressure. All tests came back fine for kidneys and heart. I do realize I don't handle stress very well to the point where I get really nervous when I am in a highly stressful situation.

I have thoughts of fear. There are times when a thought of someone breaking into my house arises and I begin to check the closets to make sure no one is in there.

When I was a child (ages 4 - 7) I suffered from having nightmares, sleep walking, and crying easily.

My father and mother divorced when I was 5 years old. I was sad when I watched him walk out the door but then I can remember him coming back fighting my mother. I was terrified. It stopped when I asked my mother not to let him in the house, she did not and that was the end.

I was 6 or 7 there was a girl down the street who was the same age as I was and she would take me to a private area (once incident in particular I remember was our garage. She would point/touch and show me my body parts (chest, vagina). I felt really violated but was afraid to tell anyone.

Her sister and another neighbor who were older would get on top of us and kiss us on the lips. Again I felt violated but was afraid to tell anyone. When they moved before I turned 8 and things were back to normal.

Each and every prescriber has his own way to assess the case.
Arguments among doctors cause a lot of confusion to the patients.
In my opinion, once a doctor takes up the case, others should not interfere until the first doctor fails to get positive results or there is something extremely dangerous about the prescription.
I have noticed that many doctors just advise the patients to take this and that without proper analyses, if the doctor gives the reasons (list of symptoms) while prescribing a certain remedy, then there are more chances for success and other doctors will also be in a better position to give their point of view.
Many people at this forum just prescribe without having proper knowledge of homeopathy which is dangerous and should be avoided.
In my opinion this case needs more investigation and if both doctors discuss with each other in order to select the right remedy, chances will be brighter for the success.

As you know, MS is a serious and complex disease. A lot of productive hours were spent to analyze this case. Unfortunately, the patient must be confused by now. This is happening in many threads on this forum. We have the right to exchange views, but, we must proceed with caution and do whatever is good for the patient. There must never be any arguments. I agree with you.

Thank you all for your input and insight. I have questions/comments for each of you.

Deshoi (sorry about the spelling)
Why Arnica? I understand arnica to address the following: Remove physical shock from the nervous system, bumps, bruises, burns, sprains, injuries, vulnerary (promotes healing), operations, genital inflammations, reduces cholesterol, reduces swelling of boils.

Why Gelsemium Sempervirens?

I have actually treated MS in clinic with positive results. It is an *extremely* difficult condition even with homoeopathy to treat. There are constant relapses, and a very aggressive tendency of the disease to progress despite any efforts made by both practitioner and patient.

When I say 'positive', I have not cured any cases yet, although each person is certainly better off than previous to treatment. This I have found frustrating.

I suspect that it is the cortisone and other medications that might create one of the obstacles to full cure. I certainly have found this condition to be one of the more challenging ones. Each patient only improved when the full case was prescribed on - physical, mental and emotional.

It was also necessary to screen out the common symptoms of the disease to get any improvement at all. All those commonly thought of remedies (Agar, Alum, Caust, Plb etc) did not make a dent in any case I saw, and in fact I had to prescribe on the symptoms that were not typically seen in MS (and this is in keeping with homoeopathic philosophy so really it is no surprise).

Treating MS takes a lot of work, a lot of committment on both sides, and takes a huge amount of skill. In homoeopathy it is still one of our great challenges like C-ancer is, and only those practitioners with good experience and skill should be attempting it.
