Warning ?? Arsenicum Album.
HiI have sever gastric disturbance and hyper acidity. I also have have Hiatus Hernia.
Main complaint is burning in Upper middle Abdomen travelling upward.
Sometimes even omeprazole, esomeprazole and lanzaprazole does not help (which btw i have been taking for the past 6 years).
Any how, according to my symptoms, Arsenicum Album came up. But on the Remedy warning note, the following was listed :
'
-it is a downward acting remedy. It is not usually used in initial stages of diseases, because it can induce the downward tendency of symptoms
- when giving Arsenicum in double pneumonia, it will only act as a vital stimulant and will make patient feel better, but will not remove the results of inflammation. Even when the patient feels better after Arsenicum, it has to be followed by a correct remedy (Sulphur or Phosphorus), or patient will die in 24 hours.
- very dangerous when used in irritable heart (especially organic), because it can cause Parenchymatous Nephritis
- very dangerous when given too frequently or in too high potencies
- never use it in fully developed pneumonia, because it can cause euthanasia

I dont have pneumonia, so all is good there but is there anything else i should be concerned about. For instance the frequency of the remedy ?

Ars. Album. is one of the star remedies of our pathy & is extremely useful one in many many acute & chronic conditions.
When you say about warning in your post it is equally applicable for almost all the medicines in our Materia Medica.
All the symptoms & negative results that you have talked about is all possible to occur when the vitality is very low,or when the drug is NOT indicated & still given in inappropriate potency.
Yes ars. alb given in very low or very high can do irreparable damage, ONLY if not indicated.
In case of any doubt it is always better to start the treatment with other milder & vitality enhancing remedies like Carbo.veg.Bryonia, Aconite,Nux vom. Arg.Nit etc.
Kali Carb is also another such remedy which some times decides the case either way so one has to be careful.
In my opinion ARS.ALB.in 30c potency is a good way to start if you feel that it is well indicated in your case.

P.S.: Please do not worry over this issue too much.Sometimes too much of knowledge also becomes a bias.I doubt very much if many of our these day Homeo students even know about such aggravations.

It is unlikely to do much harm with a single dose. It is repeated dosing of remedies that usually creates problems for people. Single doses usually wear off after a short period, but repeat dosing can actually graft new symptoms on to you.
