Morion?

Hi there! I just picked up a remedy today called morion, or that's what it looks like. But I can't find any info about that anywhere. I will ask my homeopath tomorrow, but wondered if anyone had heard of this or something that may be similar? She has written morion 200c on the packet.

Thanks for any help you can give.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If that is the actual name on the packet, it is likely she does not want you to know the real name and has put a fake one on there. She will have done that to stop you reading up on the remedy.

I think David is right. Many homeopaths do write such odd names to hide the real one. So you need not do any research on his word.Just have faith.

I would not like such practise from a homeopath. It would feel like he is witholding something from me,.. love? Dont see why there is need to hide something or prevent reading up on a remedy. Why?

Because, with you as a perfect example, patients who read up on remedies make it practically impossible to prescribe for them, make everything they say untrustworthy. It is hard enough finding the right information to prescribe on, without patients parroting what they read on the internet or in books. Patients who know nothing of our materia medica, are the easiests patients to help.

All my doctor friends agree on one point that 'a doctor is the worse patient to treat.'
David is right in saying that in most of the cases patients come to all of us thinking 'let us also 'TRY'(!) homeopathy.'
The basic premise is acute lack of trust in homeopathy as well as the doctor.I enjoy treating villagers who are least educated & they never ask me the name of the disease or the medicine. When I assure them that you will be well soon, they simply accept gratefully & in almost all cases they Do get well.
The biggest difficulty in this forum is that no sooner the doctor gives the prescription most of the patients go to any search engine & like to know about all the details of the medicine, resulting into half cooked knowledge & further increase in distrust.
The information explosion has resulted into this unfortunate situation & the so called institutionalised Homoeopaths are taking full advantage of making combinations & making money left & right.
I am at a loss as to how we can solve this problem.

Well i have no idea if she has given me a fake name or not.... but the reason im cautious about taking anything is that im pregnant and have been told the pregnancy cant progress so i wouldnt want to take anything that could put me or my baby in danger.

Homoeopathic medicines are safe for pregnancy. You do not need to worry about that at all. All of our medicines are non-toxic. You and the baby are in no danger.

I agree Daktersaab, it is a serious problem. While I promote education for patients, their tendency to go off 'half-cocked' with a bit of materia medica knowledge and no understanding of the philosophy makes it very hard on a forum like this to gain trust. I have had a number of people refuse to even take the medicines I prescribe because they read the remedy and decide that is not them, or that they don't like the substance the remedy is made from. It is very frustrating.

A classical case with me is that a very clear cut case of HYDROPHOBINUM refused to take the medicine just b'cos. it is HYDROPHOBINUM.
He is till suffering a lot but not taking the medicine.
